If you can't get enough photos of Johnny Depp with a dead bird on his head, well, saunter over here and take a gander. On Tuesday, Disney released a new batch of stills and the teaser poster to Pirates of the Caribbean pardners, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski's take on The Lone Ranger. Depp plays the masked lawman's oddly attired Native American sidekick Tonto, and, according to Disney, "recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid"(Armie Hammer) into the Lone Ranger." more »
As Movieline's The Player columnist Luke McKinney noted earlier this week, Disney's Wreck-It Ralph could be the first true video gamer movie, in part, because of the way its animated cast of original characters mingle with some very recognizable classic video-game stars. And on Friday the studio offered a much deeper look into the world that Emmy-winning director Rich Moore has created for the big screen by releasing stills of characters from Wreck-It Ralph's world as well as some familiar computer-generated faces from other games. more »
After scoping out Noah cinematographer Matthew Libatique's dark-but-revealing shot of the interior of the title character's reptile-laden ark, I find myself praying for a cameo by Samuel L. Jackson in which he lives long enough to say, "I have had it with these mother-fucking snakes on this mother-fucking ark." Libatique, who was nominated for an Oscar for his work on Black Swan, tweeted the photo on Tuesday, along with the line: "Pre lighting on the holiest day of the year," an apparent reference to Yom Kippur. more »
Is it me or does Jim Carrey look like he's dying a thousand deaths in the video below as he kills time on the set of Kick-Ass 2 in Toronto looking like the result of a night of passion between the Riddler's mom and Sgt. Rock. That actually could be a good thing since stand-up comics, which Carrey was before he became an ac-tor, are great at converting humiliation and flop sweat into moments of brutal and dark comic brilliance — a tone that certainly worked for the first Kick-Ass movie. more »
D'you mind if he puts his Adamantium claws around you? Twentieth Century-Fox has released the first official photo of an extremely lean and ripped Hugh Jackman in James Mangold's film adaption of Frank Miller and Chris Claremont's 1982 limited comic series classic, The Wolverine. more »
There will be Tiger Blood! Dimension Films has released the first official still from Scary Movie 5 and — yikes! — it has me cowering behind my fingers. I can't stop thinking about the hell spawn that would be unleashed on this world if Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan actually hooked up and she got pregnant. The image also makes me think that if this movie does successfully re-boot the franchise and leads to a Scary Movie 6, the producers will attempt to top themselves by reuniting Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries in a sex scene. Or maybe Humphries can don the white mask and dispatch Kanye West while he's canoodling with Kim. (Unnh, I just threw up in my mouth.) The movie, which is due out in 2013, also stars Ashley Tisdale, Heather Locklear and, the reason I'm going to see it: the very funny Craig Bierko.

Apparently Richard Linklater, Ethan Hawke, and Julie Delpy went ahead and filmed Before Midnight, their sequel to Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, without telling anyone about it. But there's something about the loose intimacy of Céline and Jesse's ambling, every now and again relationship that makes the idea of the trio making their next movie in secret so fitting. Hit the jump for the first image of Hawke and Delpy in the Greece-set Before Midnight, which will court buyers this week at Toronto.

How to Survive a Plague turned on the water-works and other outpourings of emotion when it debuted at Sundance earlier this year. Its subjects, the driving-forces behind AIDS activist groups ACT-Up (the AIDS Coalition To Unleash Power) and TAG (Treatment Action Group), took matters into their own hands against a massive tide of fear, discrimination and government failure to deal with the disease that ravaged the gay community in the '80s and '90s. Director David France profiles the heroes of the movement who moved the needle in forging treatment and official recognition against extraordinary odds, and today Movieline has your first look at the official poster.

It's time to ruin prom for a whole new generation of teenagers! EW.com has posted an exclusive photo of a blood-soaked Chloe Moretz from Boys Don't Cry director Kimberly Peirce's remake of Carrie.
Moretz gave me a serious case of deja vu when I saw the photo of her as the title character of Stephen King's classic 1974 horror novel about an alienated teen with telekinetic powers and a seriously wacko mother. Sissy Spacek, who played the original Carrie White was fantastic in the role, but she was also in her mid 20s at the time. At 15, Moretz seems more age-appropriate to play the role of a high schooler. Julianne Moore plays Carrie's mom in a role that Piper Laurie played in the original film..
EW reports that Moore intends for her portrayal to retain some humanity. "This woman has clearly had a psychotic break, perhaps several,” Moore tells the publication. “But what’s sad about it for me is that she’s clearly sick and here’s this poor child in the thrall of this person who is seriously ill." more »
Fittingly lavish, new images from Anna Karenina, the splendor of imperial Russia is merely the backdrop for a scandalous love affair. But strict rules and mores adhered to (and then broken) by high society have long been enticing setting for 99 per centers (and their friends) throughout the ages to witness aristocratic crash and burns through fleshly indulgences. And the screen version of Leo Tolstoy's novel appears to not hold back.
