Before Twilight and even before Kristen Stewart was first approached to be in On The Road by Brazilian-born director Walter Salles, the young actress read the Jack Kerouac novel for school. She told Movieline that she picked up the book because it was an assignment given, but her experience with the now American classic evolved. "I found the book fun," she said. But after reading and studying it more, it became much more compelling and taught her personal life lessons about growing up, making choices and dealing with inhibitions. She also emphasized that while she played the comparatively wild Marylou, she does not judge her uninhibited character.

Kristen Stewart fans may have been disappointed that the Twilight superstar did not make an appearance at last week's MTV Video Music Awards, but crowds here in Toronto had the chance to see the actress on the red carpet for the North American premiere of Walter Salles' On The Road along with fellow cast members Garrett Hedlund, Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams and Sam Riley. Stewart spoke with ML about the part she had actually landed before she filmed her first Twilight installment. Stewart shared her thoughts on the steamy relationship between her character Marylou and Hedlund's Dean Moriarty — a life-long relationship that was rife with affairs, drugs and a wild ride on the road.

Kristen Stewart said that the sex scenes and the nudity weren't the difficult part of playing Marylou in On The Road. Rather it was her character's emotional openness. "She loved so openly — and that's hard," Stewart said of Lu Anne Henderson. She also referred to her character, who Neal Cassady married when she was just 15, as "a bottomless pit" — presumably a reference to her emotional capacity — who would have been "ahead of her time even now." Don't tell David Koepp that scandal is good for box office.
The screenwriter (Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones: The Return of a Legend) and director of this week's Premium Rush told Movieline that speculation that the media scandal involving Kristen Stewart, her Twilight co-star and reported off-screen beau Robert Pattinson and her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders is somehow good for business is "a cynical response" to the situation. more »
David Koepp couldn't envision a Snow White and the Huntsman sequel without Kristen Stewart — which is one reason he says he's no longer involved in the project.
Koepp — who scripted Jurassic Park, the original 2002 Spider-Man movie and co-wrote and directed this weekend's new bike-messenger thriller Premium Rush — told Movieline that he departed the project because he had worked on a script idea "that I really liked" involving Stewart's character. If there were any concerns that recent personal dramas between Twilight stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson would somehow sink the prospects for the final installment of the monolithic franchise, the title's Twitter handle appears to suggest otherwise. Distributor Summit Entertainment touted that The Twilight Saga's Twitter handle, @Twilight has reached 1 million followers. That milestone makes it the first-ever movie to reach that many people via the social networking site. The news comes as some good news for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 after reports over the weekend that the pic's stars will opt out of upcoming Twilight conventions.

It is Christmas in August when Summit Entertainment releases more photos from the final installment of the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn - Part 2. And it just so happens that one of the photos depicts Bella (Kristen Stewart), Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and Renesmee, the half-vampire progeny of Bella and Edward rocking around the Christmas tree with some, um, traditionally human appetizers. Apparently, the half human side of Suri, I mean, Renesmee still digs Ritz crackers and Hershey Christmas Kisses. I'm guessing the summer sausage is for Jacob. Okay, so enough about the holidays. Let's just get to the pictures, which you can find after the jump. Breaking Dawn Part 2, which reportedly will have at least one big plot surprise that does not follow the book from which its adapted, opens on Nov. 16.
