On the eve of his Cannes debut in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, Robert Pattinson spoke with Metro France about a host of topics, most notably his fear of being fired from the film and his eagerness to reunite with the director on a “really weird” film about the film industry. And, oh yes: His balls. More specifically, how Cronenberg really wanted to get them in a shot for one particularly revealing scene…

Come on, admit it: You are going to miss The Twilight Saga when it's over — especially the delectably, heavily airbrushed countenances of the films' Big Three stars, glowering out from an eternity of repackaged DVD/Blu-ray sets, Twilight fan cruises, B-action notoriety, story-driven nudity and whatever else awaits beyond the horizon. I know I am! Forever, indeed. That is a very long time. I can barely finish this post conveying the new Breaking Dawn - Part 2 character posters, it is all so wrenching.

The French Riviera got a triple dose of star power as Brad Pitt breezed into town for his Killing Me Softly premiere, where the goofy Pitt got snap-happy with the paparazzi. The psychological thriller Mission: Blacklist has attached Robert Pattinson to star as the military interrogator who led the hunt for deposed Iraqi president Saddam Hussein. The film, set to be directed by Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire, is going on the block at the Cannes Market later this month; co-producer Ross Dinerstein promises "a gripping, edge of your seat thriller [...] I have been inspired by Robert and Jean-Stéphane’s dedication to tell this story in the most authentic way possible." [Deadline]
There's nothing terribly sensational here to get excited about in the first two official stills from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, except for -- ZOMG! -- a certain pair of blood-red vampire eyes staring out at us amidst the smoldering looks and pale prettiness on display. And the almost surreal perfection of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner's complexions. Fun fact: Twilight's vampires not only sparkle in the sunlight, they never have to blink. Hit the jump for images!

Twilight fans need to hear just one word to understand why this rather standard-looking pillow is going for thousands on Ebay: "Feathers." Yes, that's right -- the prop pillow that Edward Cullen shredded during his in flagrante honeymoon sexing with Bella Swan in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 is up for auction by the prop reseller Hollywood Parts, which guarantees the authenticity of the item with this lovely detail: "Make up stains from the main actors can be seen on the pillow." (Butter-colored, I presume?) Somehow it's still available for the low, low Buy It Now price of $2,999.99. And I thought shoes from the future were a good investment... [eBay via Examiner]
Well, it looks like Lionsgate has picked their pony in the Catching Fire directing race; I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence has reportedly been offered the job to helm the Hunger Games sequel, which is set to start filming on a tight schedule this August. Lawrence has three features under his belt, in addition to music videos for the likes of J. Lo and Britney Spears; he most recently directed Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon in Water for Elephants (but also made 2005's Constantine).

I mean, being plucked from the Harry Potter supporting wings and the odd pre-fame arthouse pic for eternal teen vampire glory aside, signing on for David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis looks more and more like the best decision Robert Pattinson has ever made. Now that the edgy adaptation of Don DeLillo's 2003 novel is heading for a Cannes debut -- and with the fearlessly cold, cynical swagger RPattz displays in the latest Cosmopolis trailer -- this is shaping up to be the career-changer the erstwhile Edward Cullen has been looking for.

Congrats aren't just in order for the winners of tonight's Film Independent Spirit Awards; major props go to Adam Sandler for an outstanding showing in today's Razzie nominations announcement, which found the Jack & Jill/Just Go With It star breaking the previous record for most personal Razzie nominations earned in a year. (Sandler won 11 nominations, while Jack & Jill itself earned 12.) Eddie Murphy, guess you're off the hook for the Year of Norbit. See the full list of fairly obvious nominees vying for Golden Raspberry (dis)honors after the the jump and leave your predictions below.

Poor Robert Pattinson: The weight of proving himself, in a movie that doesn’t have the words “Twilight” and “Saga” in the title, is shaping up to be heavier than a vampire’s curse. In last year’s Water for Elephants, he had a charming naivete, a seemingly natural shyness that was wholly inoffensive, if not exactly memorable. And as social schemer Georges Duroy in Bel Ami, playing here at the Berlinale out of competition on the festival’s next-to-last day, he works harder to redeem himself than any actor should have to: He applies a scowl from Column A with an eyebrow furrow from Column B to express displeasure; Smirk No. 4 denotes a moment of extreme hubris. The effect is like watching an athlete trying not to break a sweat – you might want to root for him, but there’s a part of you that just wants him to let it all out already.
