Even if you have no tolerance for Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen, you've got to admit they can take a joke. My expectations were not high for scandal magnets' scenes together in Scary Movie V, but this clip is actually a hoot. more »
News of Lindsay Lohan's plea deal puts her one step closer to a comeback. Back in February, I wrote that if Lohan could avoid going to jail over charges of reckless driving and lying to police and reinstitute some self-discipline into her life, her raw performance in Paul Schrader's The Canyons could mark the beginning of her redemption as an actress. more »
I come to praise Lindsay Lohan, not to bury her. Yes, you read that right. Just a few months ago, I had declared the 26-year-old actress a lost cause who had swapped a promising career for a rap sheet. And then Paul Schrader let me see The Canyons. more »
I so wanted to be pleasantly shocked by The Canyons, the Paul Schrader-directed erotic L.A. noir starring wannabe comeback queen (and documented on-set terror, per that glorious NYT profile) Lindsay Lohan. The tongue-in-cheek trailer held some distant promise, although it was notably absent any extended look at the acting by LiLo and co-star/porn hunk James Deen, but now we've got three full unbroken minutes of The Canyons and, well, that comeback train's going to be delayed at the station... if not completely derailed off the tracks in a fiery blaze.

After Lindsay Lohan's got busted for allegedly slugging another woman at a New York nightclub in November, I wrote her off as a lost cause, but Stephen Rodrick's fascinating New York Times piece about Paul Schrader's making of The Canyons with Lohan left me thinking that there's still a talented actress in that scandal-ravaged psyche worth saving. more »
I realize that with a little notoriety and a lot of money, it's fairly easy to get a film made and distributed. But even knowing that, it's still incredibly baffling to see the red band trailer for InAPPropriate Comedy and realize this is an actual movie that will play in theaters. Directed by Vince 'Slap Chop' Offer, it's The Kentucky Fried Movie meets the Charlie Sheen celebrity roast, and it looks every bit as terrible as his earlier Underground Comedy Movie. Only with the added discomfort of seeing Lindsay Lohan sully the last shreds of her reputation for what must surely have been a miniscule paycheck. more »
If Lindsay Lohan doesn't go back to jail as a result of today's news, I have an idea for a film project for her: It's a remake of Groundhog Day in which LiLo plays the Bill Murray role and wakes up every day to new criminal charges until she gets her act together. more »
Given the off-the-charts camp factor in the tantalizing prospect of Lindsay Lohan playing Elizabeth Taylor, Lifetime might prize descriptions of Liz & Dick as "trashy" or "awful." So the network might harbor mixed emotions in reading that the movie about Taylor and her tumultuous romance with Richard Burton is actually pretty good, all things considered, despite an inevitably episodic nature and one glaringly unnecessary device. Such fact-based TV movies are rare these days, but this post-Thanksgiving telecast is just hammy enough to generate numbers rivaling the hordes of paparazzi that dogged the not-always-happy couple. more »
Lindsay Lohan does not read reviews of her performances, according to TMZ, which is a smart move when it comes to her much-publicized turn as Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime movie, Liz & Dick. The picture, which chronicles Taylor's tempestuous love affair with Richard Burton, doesn't air until Nov. 25, and already critics are carving into Lohan like she's a Thanksgiving turkey. more »

Paul Schrader and Bret Easton Ellis's indie L.A. noir The Canyons has been a curious project to track — who's the more random star, comeback queen Lindsay Lohan or porn stud James Deen? — but a new teaser trailer offers an unexpectedly compelling preview of the film, retro-exploitation style.

There will be Tiger Blood! Dimension Films has released the first official still from Scary Movie 5 and — yikes! — it has me cowering behind my fingers. I can't stop thinking about the hell spawn that would be unleashed on this world if Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan actually hooked up and she got pregnant. The image also makes me think that if this movie does successfully re-boot the franchise and leads to a Scary Movie 6, the producers will attempt to top themselves by reuniting Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries in a sex scene. Or maybe Humphries can don the white mask and dispatch Kanye West while he's canoodling with Kim. (Unnh, I just threw up in my mouth.) The movie, which is due out in 2013, also stars Ashley Tisdale, Heather Locklear and, the reason I'm going to see it: the very funny Craig Bierko.

Finally, the Scary Movie franchise is living up to its waning reputation as the classiest WTF-iest of the lowest common denominator spoof-offs, as The New York Post reveals: "'Charlie [Sheen] and Lindsay [Lohan] filmed a love scene,' said a spy. 'The scene they were shooting for the movie was of them in bed together'... We hear the Scary script called for Lohan to kiss Sheen, and also to slip into a kinky collar." Making out with Charlie Sheen! Just another thing Amanda Bynes hasn't had to do. (Yet.) [NY Post via WetPaint]
When Lindsay Lohan signed on to play Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime's Liz & Dick it was tough to know what to expect. Now that three new photos from the tele-biopic have landed, we have our answer: Behold, LiLo dressed up as Liz Taylor circa 1960 on the set of Cleopatra, LiLo as Liz Taylor marrying Richard Burton in 1964, and DEAR GOD, LILO AS LIZ TAYLOR WITH GIANT POOFY '80S HAIR AND SHOULDER PADS.
