Speaking of The Lizard making a splash at Comic-Con, The Wrap reports that Amazing Spider-Man star Rhys Ifans was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery in San Diego. Ifans, who portrays Dr. Curt Conners a/k/a The Lizard, was on hand among cast and filmmakers yesterday to debut footage in Hall H; apparently, the incident occurred when Ifans "shov[ed] a female security guard" and "insulted" the U.S. prior to the panel.
One of the highlights of yesterday's Comic-Con events was definitely the panel for the Amazing Spider-Man, where director Marc Webb and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans took the eager fans on an emotional Hall H journey. Legendary Pictures -- the production company behind Batman Begins, Watchmen, Clash of the Titans, and all the movies you can't wait to see in 2012 and beyond -- will host its first Comic-Con panel later this month, and while footage will likely be scarce, expect a parade of talent to come through Hall H for upcoming films Pacific Rim, Seventh Son, Paradise Lost, and the Mass Effect video game adaptation. Twenty four-year-old Lyndsy Fonseca has been familiar to television fans since her days on The Young and the Restless (she also appeared on Boston Public, Big Love, Desperate Housewives, and as Ted Mosby's future daughter on How I Met Your Mother) but she made herself known in fierce fashion last fall as Maggie Q's cunning and loyal protégé, Alex, on The CW's lady spy series Nikita. This week Fonseca adds to her growing film slate with a turn in John Carpenter's The Ward, a '60s-set psychological horror tale also filled with complex female relationships, themes of survival, and endless twists and turns.

The director will bring his latest film, Twixt, to showcase at the July convention, where he'll integrate live music by Dan Deacon to demonstrate the project's boundary-pushing interactive presentation.
