"The cost of freedom is always high. No one can foresee precisely what course it will take. One path we shall never choose -- and that is the path of surrender." So says John F. Kennedy about the Cuban Missile Crisis in the trailer for X-Men: First Class, Matthew Vaughn's '60s-set origin story of Professor X and Magneto. Wait, one second. What's JFK doing here?

The Gerta Gerwig crush running through Movieline HQ is pretty formidable, so you can imagine our collective disappointment upon realizing that the Sacramento native only has one line of dialogue in the first trailer for the remake of Arthur. Though considering the amount of classic rock coursing through this initial ad campaign for the Russell Brand remake, perhaps there wasn't much room for anything more.

After getting over the initial shock of seeing the amazing/terrifying Black Swan parody poster for Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family, you may have found yourself asking: "How will the movie possibly live up to that?" I still don't have a good answer to that, but can happily report that the trailer is every bit as ridiculous as the poster. I'm talking about a full-on Karaoke sing-along to a Madea single ("MA to the DEA") and enough split-screen to embarrass Brian de Palma.

If you've ever fantasized about Jon Hamm whispering sweet nothings about buttholes into a microphone at a packed standing-room-only book reading, you're in luck: the handsome Mad Men actor did just that at a show in Brooklyn on Tuesday night to celebrate Jon Glaser's new book, My Dead Dad Was in ZZ Top. Hamm read about the origination of the alt-rock band Butthole Surfers while fellow actor Paul Rudd assumed his best Jay Leno impression to perform a chapter about ConanGate.

Are you in the market for a story about a computer-animated rabbit who craps jelly beans and behaves like a sexual predator? What if that computer-animated rabbit was voiced by the inimitable Russell Brand? Good. Let's watch the trailer for Hop.

Is there a more reliably funny Internet video series than Between Two Ferns? Whether hosted by Zach Galifianakis or his mustachioed twin brother Seth, the "talk show" (sponsored by Speed Stick!) is a lock to elicit one or two genuine guffaws from viewers. The latest installment finds Galifianakis discussing sexual acts with a very game Tila Tequila, and Weapons of Mass Destruction with a hilariously peeved Jennifer Aniston. More of that would be a welcome career shift for the Just Go With It star. Click ahead to watch the uncomfortable.

These days, The Wicker Man probably makes many think of derisive laughter, elated confusion and Nicolas Cage getting attacked by bees. But the original 1973 cult film still holds up as a chilling, uncomfortably funny horror movie about the power of fear, desperation and faith. Its director Robin Hardy has been struggling for years to make a companion-piece, and now, more than 30 years later, the trailer for The Wicker Tree has arrived. Those scared of naked women wearing horse masks may want to look elsewhere today. Ah yes, it's probably NSFW.

For the record, Movieline HQ was buzzing about the Darth Vader Volkswagen commercial days before it aired on the Super Bowl. OK, so was the rest of the Internet, but, still! It was easily the best ad of the night -- sorry, Eminem and Timothy Hutton! -- and had the Super Bowl party I attended coursing with delight after it aired. One surprising question did arise, however: Was that an actual child underneath the Darth Vader helmet, or a little person? As one friend theorized, the hand gestures and acting seemed too good to simply belong to a precocious six-year-old. Except for the fact that apparently they did.

For a certain sect of Internet dwellers, the name Richard Ayoade means something major. Or at least major enough that when Community creator Dan Harmon recently posted on his Twitter page that the British comedian/actor/director would get behind the camera for an upcoming episode, at least one or two people in your circle of friends probably started hyperventilating at the thought. Well, before sending those friends this trailer for Ayoade's directorial debut Submarine, you might want to suggest they pick up a paper bag.

Let's give it up for Stephen Lang! After all, the dude went from "That guy!" to "That guy from Avatar who welcomes naive people to dangerous places!" in the span of just over a year. Though while Lang's presence in the trailer for the Steven Spielberg dinosaur time traveling series Terra Nova might make you think of Avatar, the premise and alternate world thrills will really make you think of Avatar.

Cult actress Tura Satana, who was best known for the Russ Meyer's classic killer vixen flick Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, passed away this weekend in Reno, NV from heart failure. While her face has been immortalized from her work with Meyer, Santana stayed mostly off of the radar later on, especially after a few tragic events including a car accident and a gunshot from a former lover. However, besides Pussycat, she also starred in one of the worst-reviewed films on imdb. And yes, the film, Astro-Zombies, is amazing.

Mere hours before it screens during the big game, the Los Angeles Times laid their hands Cowboys and Aliens's Super Bowl spot. If you've seen the promos before (and let's face it, I bet you have), then there's not a whole lot new in the 30 second tease, beyond a better look at the titular aliens' spaceships, which look almost like a spinal cord or a rib cage to my eyes. Check it out after the jump!

You'd watch Henry Winkler in just about anything, wouldn't you? Children's Hospital? Arrested Development? Joanie Tolerates Fonzie? Anything. Well, Winkler's son Max is a freshman director whose first film Ceremony pairs Uma Thurman with a bunch of up-and-coming funny actors. Let's watch the trailer and see if young Max can revitalize "wedding crashing" as a comic subgenre without jumping the shark. Ha Ha.

Once again, Magnolia Pictures will be bringing all of the Academy Award nominees for Best Short Film in the Documentary, Animation and Live Action categories to theaters, and also to your home via VOD. So those who want to get serious about predicting the Oscars can watch them all, take notes and crunch whatever numbers you feel necessary before making a decision.
