WATCH: The Best Of Tina Fey & Amy Poehler's Golden Globes Performance

Aspiring awards-show hosts, do I have a training video for you.  Here, in one sweet video-clip compilation, is a highlight reel of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's pitch-perfect performance at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday. Included are Poehler's lines about the "beautiful people of film rubbing shoulders with the rat-faced people of television," Les Miserables actress Anne Hathaway not being cut out for porn, and  Fey's warning to singer/songwriter Taylor Swift to "stay away from Michael J. Fox's son," Sam.     more »

Daniel Day-Lewis Hesitant To Play Abraham Lincoln

Daniel Day-Lewis Hesitant To Play Abraham Lincoln

Actor Daniel Day-Lewis was reticent playing U.S. President Abraham Lincoln in the now much anticipated film that opens this weekend beginning in limited release and heads out wide the following week. But after a long build-up before actually taking on the 16th U.S. leader, he reflected that he now feels "nourished" by the role and hopes Lincoln will "stay with him forever."

WATCH: One Reason Tommy Lee Jones Should Be Nominated For An Oscar

WATCH: One Reason Tommy Lee Jones Should Be Nominated For An Oscar

Tommy Lee Jones has played a lot of curmudgeonly sons of bitches over the course of his career, but his latest is his something to behold. The actor's portrayal of the rapier-tongued Pennsylvania congressman Thaddeus Stevens is one of the cornerstones of Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, and now that Disney has released a clip of one of his key scenes, you can see for yourself why he's generating Oscar buzz. more »

Lincoln Sneak Offers 19th Century Intrigue And 21st Century Oscar Contender

Lincoln Sneak Offers 19th Century Intrigue And 21st Century Oscar Contender

"This has been a journey for me that's unlike nothing I've done before. It's been a real ride and it's still unfinished." So said Steven Spielberg Monday night as he introduced the New York Film Festival's "Surprise Screening," Lincoln, though most everyone in the jammed unruly line(s) getting into the Alice Tully Hall all but knew the film starring Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln and Sally Field as Mary Todd Lincoln, would be the 'surprise.'

The general consensus about the film is that it is a serious contender for Oscar glory, though with the likes of Day-Lewis and a stunning performance by Tommy Lee Jones as radical Republican Congressional leader Thaddeus Stevens, as well as a script by Tony Kushner and director Spielberg, how could it not be?

REVIEW: Hope Springs Is Raw, Moving, And Horribly Forced, But Redeemed By Streep And Jones' Bravura Performances

REVIEW: Hope Springs Is Raw, Moving, And Horribly Forced, But Redeemed By Streep And Jones' Bravura Performances

Hope Springs is not what it says on the package. The trailer is all comedy and quirk, but the movie is not.

Let’s face it though, the premise is a hard sell. Films about old people are anathema to mainstream Hollywood. Since the success of Cocoon  — which featured its over-50 cast rejuvenated by a swimming pool containing alien pods — movies featuring actors of a certain age are rare, and despite the success of Space Cowboys, The Straight Story and Meryl Streep's last Oscar-winning vehicle, The Iron Lady, it is almost impossible to get a film made unless someone under 20 is pivotal to the script. more »

REVIEW: Josh Brolin Makes Men in Black 3 Matter — Almost

REVIEW: Josh Brolin Makes Men in Black 3 Matter — Almost

It would be very easy to show up here and report that Men in Black 3 has no reason to exist, that it’s just another threequel that didn’t have to be made. The truth is a little more complicated: Men in Black 3 — which was, like its two predecessors, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld — is neither as much fun as the first picture in the series nor as totally useless as the second. It has an actual story line, one that’s quite moving in places. And it features a bit of casting that’s pure genius. Men in Black 3 is almost good enough to make you care about its existence. And yet not quite.

Here Comes the New Men in Black 3 Trailer (To Underwhelm You)

Here Comes the New Men in Black 3 Trailer (To Underwhelm You)

Sony's got quite the job ahead of them selling the mega-budgeted sequel Men in Black III, due in May, if the new trailer is any indication: See Will Smith drop lines like "I don't have no problem pimp-slapping the shiznit outta Andy Warhol" and be transported to a futuristic time-traveling retro '60s that looks and sounds a lot like the one Austin Powers came from. I guess the '90s are the new '80s, but this is just lazy.

Steven Spielberg Doesn't Want Lincoln Biopic to Become 'Political Fodder'

Steven Spielberg Doesn't Want Lincoln Biopic to Become 'Political Fodder'

While discussing the presidential biopic that he is gearing up to shoot in Richmond this fall, Steven Spielberg described what he does not want Lincoln to be. The 2012 title will "not [be] a battlefield movie. There are battles in it, and being in Virginia, we have access to those historic battlefields." Additionally, "the movie will be purposely coming out after next year's election. I didn't want it to become political fodder." On the other hand, Lincoln will chronicle "the great work Abraham Lincoln did in the last months of his life." The drama stars Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th president of the United States alongside Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and John Hawkes. [Orlando Sentinel]

New Captain America Trailer Ups the Raiders of the Lost Ark/Rocketeer Vibe

New Captain America Trailer Ups the Raiders of the Lost Ark/Rocketeer Vibe

If you weren't sold on the Chris Evans-starring Captain America: The First Avenger yet, let the newly released theatrical trailer assuage your fears that it'll turn out to be another tame, Thor-level Marvel meh-fest. Instead, the trailer tells us, literally, what Edith Zimmerman learned the drunken way: Evans, and Captain America, is "gonna get so many girls." And boys. And anyone with a lingering fetish for the retro-futuristic stylings of Raiders of the Lost Ark and director Joe Johnston's underappreciated 1991 adventure The Rocketeer.

Spielberg's Lincoln Adds Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, John Hawkes

Steven Spielberg went to town this week casting his upcoming Abraham Lincoln biopic, which already had Daniel Day-Lewis in place as Lincoln and Sally Field as his wife, Mary Todd.
