Quentin Tarantino's 'Django' Klansmen Inspired By John Ford: 'To Say The Least, I Hate Him'

John Ford may be one of American cinema's great directors, but Quentin Tarantino has some choice words for the maker of such film classics as The Searchers, Stagecoach, and The Grapes of Wrath: "To say the least, I hate him," Tarantino told The Root in a recent conversation about Django Unchained. What's more, he says Ford inspired him to write a scene in Django Unchained in which comically inept proto-Klansmen get their just desserts.

James Franco Sued For Defaming Ex-NYU Professor Who Failed Him

James Franco may be Hollywood's most accomplished, out there polyglot, but one former professor isn't too happy with how the Oscar nominee has spoken publicly of his time as a film student at NYU. José Angel Santana, who was fired in 2011, filed a lawsuit against the actor for calling him "awful" and a "bad teacher" while doing the press rounds for The Broken Tower. “Whoever was in Clint Eastwood’s chair at the Republican National Convention was more present than Mr. Franco was in my classes,” Santana told the NY Post. Oh snap did he just make a Clint RNC chair joke??

About That Time Shia LaBeouf And Tom Hardy Got Into A 'Tussle' On The Set Of Lawless

Now that John Hillcoat's brutal Prohibition tale Lawless has hit screens (read Movieline's review here) you can more vividly imagine the testosterone-and-moonshine fueled atmosphere that might have permeated the set, where, as Lawless legend has it, co-stars Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy had an unscripted scuffle. Nevertheless, while making the press rounds Hillcoat and LaBeouf both tried to squash rumors of the brotherly beef. Just a little innocent horseplay gone wrong?
