See How Michel Gondry Accepted Sony's Offer to Direct The Green Hornet

As the wonderful Michel Gondry told Movieline this week, his decision to direct The Green Hornet -- a film he had played footsie with since 1997 -- was not some desperate money grab, but rather the fruition of a lifelong dream: "I came into Hollywood trying to do this movie." Was Gondry nervous then when Sony finally offered him the opportunity? The director -- who is also quite the proficient sketch artist -- was kind enough to draw his feelings on the matter for Metro reporter Ned Ehrbar. Click ahead to see the results.

Help Caption the First Images of Jim Carrey in Mr. Popper's Penguins

Movieline didn't flag him among the 2011 comeback candidates, but might this be the year everyone remembers Jim Carrey? On the heels of hosting the highest rated Saturday Night Live of the season, the first official images of Carrey in next summer's Mr. Popper's Penguins have arrived, and they look quite promising. Or at least promising if you fondly recall Carrey's animal loving turn as Ace Ventura -- and, really, who doesn't? Click ahead for the pics of Carrey breaking one of W.C. Fields' most basic rules, and feel free to caption away in the comments section.

Somebody Please Give Paul Mazursky Money For His 3-D Orgy Idea

Maybe you've been wondering what some of your favorite 70's directors have been up to ever since they stopped making movies. It turns out that in the case of Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice and Blume in Love director Paul Mazursky, he's just been laying low, waiting for someone to give him money to shoot an orgy scene in 3-D. Mazursky recently told The Wall Street Journal: "They want to remake Bob and Carol, and I said, 'If you give me a lot of money upfront and you do the orgy in 3D, I'd be interested.'" Okay, this needs to happen. Here's why.

Glenn Beck Really Loved Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark

Like really loved it. More than Wicked even! "After you couldn't get a ticket to Spider-Man and you've offered a kidney for it, go see Wicked," Beck said during his nationally syndicated radio show on Wednesday. "I mean, you've got two kidneys. Don't give both kidneys up -- go see Wicked before you give both kidneys. But give a kidney to go see Spider-Man." Someone stick that on the poster! [NYT/ArtsBeat]

Damon Lindelof Helps Write Sideways Universe Version of Sex and the City 2

Say what you will about Damon Lindelof, but the man has a knack for parodying bloated Hollywood excess. You'll recall that last June Lindelof wrote a BP-themed sequel treatment for Esquire titled Armageddoner!, and now he's back with an alternate version of Sex and the City 2. Don't worry, fans; this version doesn't feature a big meeting of all Carrie's ex-boyfriends in a church at some unknown time in the afterlife. It does feature a fatwa, though.

VIDEO: Trailer for The Simpsons Porn Parody Features Suprisingly Impressive Impersonations

· We love the idea of pop culture porn parodies around Movieline HQ, but that doesn't mean we're on board for one featuring The Simpsons. Because, see, this porn parody features actual human beings covered in yellow paint, and not cartoons (not that cartoons would make it any better). On the upside, however are the impressions. They're great! Where'd they find the guy to do Homer? And Moe? And Flanders? This is mind-blowing on many levels. Click ahead to watch the SFW trailer, then stick around for more Buzz Break.

Please Help Find Tom Hanks's Rapping Son Chet a Better MC Name

Tom Hanks's son Chet, a proud Northwestern University student (just like Mamie Gummer!), is an even prouder rapper. The undergrad's Facebook bio claims "his nights consist of absolutely murdering tracks, and living what he is really spitting," and I cannot call shenanigans there. I do, however, protest the MC name "Chet Haze." Listen to his rhymes and help offer new names after the jump.

9 Other '80s Games That Hollywood Might as Well Turn Into Movies

Sit down. Here's an actual quote from the Variety story about 20th Century Fox going ahead with an adaptation of the Atari game Missile Command. "With Missile Command, the scribes have little to adapt beyond a title to build a plot around and a Cold War-heavy scenario of players having to defend their cities from being destroyed by a rain of missiles." So, yeah, maybe James Cameron was right: Hollywood is completely out of ideas, unless they're related to '80s video and/or board games. Unfortunately, between Battleship, Stretch Armstrong, Asteroids, Clue and the hotly anticipated View Master, it seems Tinsel Town is even running out of games to adapt. Ahead, Movieline offers studio executives nine they might want to consider. Because at this point, why not?

Edgar Wright Plays My Favorite Scene; Do You Feel Lucky?

When filmmaker Edgar Wright returns to Los Angeles this weekend to curate his second guest programming run at the New Beverly Cinema, he's bringing more of his favorite films to share. The first time Wright brought his encyclopedic film knowledge to the local institution back in 2007, his fortnight of cult and genre double features packed the house and kicked off a spate of popular guest programming series by the likes of Eli Roth, Joe Dante and Jason Reitman. Now Wright's back to present over two weeks of double bills including paired screenings of Brazil & Delicatessen (Jan. 16-17), American Graffiti & Animal House (Jan. 20-21), Wild at Heart & True Romance (Jan. 26-27), and more - and it all begins with an already sold-out triple feature of Wright's own Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (Jan. 14-15).

Serpent Eats Its Own Tail: A Ghostbusters 3 Development Timeline

At this point, you might have an easier time indexing every bit of information in the latest WikiLeaks cables than sifting through the last 10-plus years of rumors surrounding Ghostbusters 3. And then, today news hits that the movie is indeed still in development, but not confirmed for production because... Bill Murray hasn't signed on yet. Okay, so Aykroyd's on the radio reassuring everyone about the sequel and Murray's keeping his distance. Has anything at all changed since the beginning of this ridiculously over-hyped and probably unnecessary project? Just to double check, I waded through pages of old news and rumors to construct some sort of working timeline about the film's development. Might want to take a painkiller in advance for this post.
