As L.A. Street Art Rampage Continues, Academy Admits It Can't Stop Banksy From Showing Up

Academy president Tom Sherak has officially weighed in on whether Banksy will be allowed to attend the Oscars in disguise on behalf of Best Documentary nominee Exit Through the Giftshop. While the Academy would still prefer that he not wear a disguise, it doesn't sound like security will be standing by to taser anybody in a monkey mask. Said Sherak, "Listen, he'd run right over me. I'm not gonna stand up to stop him. Nobody is, that's not what we do." Meanwhile, Banksy probably doesn't care what Sherak said because he is too busy throwing up street art all over Los Angeles. Watch Cameron Diaz Cuss at Kids in NSFW Red Band Bad Teacher Trailer

I can only imagine that everyone involved in Bad Santa will be at least a little bit bummed out after this trailer for Bad Teacher. As the trailer started, maybe they just mused, "Hey, that Jake Kasdan guy made a movie with people cussing and doing drugs around kids, except it stars Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake and it doesn't look as funny. Interesting. I wonder what they decided to call it?" Then, the title screen flashes, and that's when they realize that someone actually stole their title page and logline and changed the word "Santa" to "Teacher."

Director of Birdemic Says He's 'Mastered' 3-D for Sequel

James Nguyen, the possibly-delusional former Silicon Valley software salesman-turned-filmmaker behind the truly awful-and-not-even-in-a-good-way 2008 cult pic Birdemic (on DVD shelves this week), is hard at work on Birdemic 2: The Resurrection. That's the bad news. The good news: He's filming it in 3-D -- and the untrained Nguyen assures the Wall Street Journal that he's "completely mastered the art of 3-D cinematography." The self-described "Master of the Romantic Thriller" adds that the sequel might have something to do with the La Brea Tar Pits. We take it back. This is all bad news. [WSJ Speakeasy]
