Esquire writer Chris Jones tweeted some strange news about hanging out with Justin Timberlake at Comic-Con this past weekend. Apparently the Friends With Benefits star, whom Jones is profiling, donned a full-body costume and posed with unsuspecting attendees as if he were just another sweaty programmer from San Marcos. What costume did Timberlake wear? The answer will tinker with your childhood.

Movieline's Comic-Con cosplayer profile series began with Chef Vader, continued with the Halo Spartans, and alighted on a 9-year-old Hit Girl. Today, we meet a costumed Mortal Kombat-loving Con-goer from Tucson, Ariz. who crafted her own revealing outfit with just a few scant yards of fabric. Stuck at a railroad crossing just outside of the Convention Center -- standing next to her own personal Liu Kang -- she spoke with Movieline while hordes of badge holders waited to cross the tracks.

The Comic-Con crowd has always been good to Jon Favreau -- recall the splash he made here in 2007 with Iron Man, a geek director finding his people -- and charmingly (or cunningly, but mostly charmingly) Favreau knows it. So even without a panel to present at Comic-Con this year, he brought his latest film, the sci-fi Western Cowboys & Aliens, to San Diego in a big way: By hosting an enormous premiere filled with cast, crew, hundreds of fans, and a rousing, touching speech that seemed to genuinely come from the heart.

Click through for the nerdy glitz and glamour.

In order to catch Stephen Dorff and Nick Swardson during Comic-Con, Movieline had to brave the converted parking lot Camp Playboy, an artificial turf-lined space where dozens of scantily clad Playboy model types (day players, mostly) flitted about during our chat about Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star, in which Swardson plays the world's unlikeliest porn star. In other words: The perfect setting.

As part of our continuing Comic-Con coverage this year, Movieline is profiling some of the most elaborate cosplayers roaming the San Diego Convention Center halls. Thousands of fanboys (and girls) travel to Comic-Con each year to breathe the same air as their pop culture heroes, even if that means spending all day with 7,000 strangers in a San Diego Convention Center auditorium. The crowding was worth it though for anyone in yesterday's phenomenal Tintin panel -- where Steven Spielberg broke news of Jurassic Park 4 and offered inspirational wisdom to his audience -- especially for one lucky fan who was spontaneously welcomed onstage by the great filmmaker. Let's relive the adorable moment.

While Danny McBride couldn't make yesterday's 30 Minutes or Less panel at Comic-Con because he was busy filming Eastbound & Down, the actor did send a personalized video message. And not just the standard, "Sorry I couldn't be there" business but a hilariously profane shout-out during which he ridiculed his cast and crew, praised his own performance and shocked the families sitting inside Hall H with some Kenny Powers-style language. Take a look at the transcript below.

Edward and Bella weren't at Comic-Con on Friday, but, for geeks, an even better couple made an appearance: Tintin co-masterminds Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson. Elsewhere, John Cusack, Colin Farrell, Tom Hardy, and the cast of The Amazing Spider-Man lent their charms to Hall H, along with William Shatner. And, seriously: would it even be Comic-Con without Captain Kirk? Click ahead for day two in pictures.
