In addition to announcing their Tribeca closing night bow, Marvel recently unveiled the full track listing for their upcoming Avengers companion album, comprised of "music from and inspired by" the May 4 superhero flick. Among the hot bands of today yesterday contributing future hits to the soundtrack? Soundgarden! Papa Roach! Bush! And the kicker: Evanescence. Now, I know these major recording artists have been around since their respective heydays in the '90s and '00s, but really, Avengers? I haven't had this kind of knee-jerk reaction to a movie soundtrack since I revisited the abomination that was the soundtrack to 1998's Godzilla.

So this is what Val Kilmer and his luscious locks were doing hanging with Kyle Gass and Jack Black, AKA Tenacious D. In the newly released video 'To Be the Best,' Black and Gass find their fates have gone in different directions following the failure of their film Tenacious D: In the Pick of Destiny and only Kilmer, Dave Grohl, and Josh Groban can help mental patient Gass and "Hollywood Jack" reunite (for their new album, in stores May 15). Also on hand? Tim Robbins. Why not?

As a member of the Jakarta police force, Rama (Iko Uwais) is one of dozens of SWAT agents about to be trapped within the concrete walls of a tenement building run by a nefarious slumlord, set upon by machete-wielding thugs and forced to fight his way out using knives, broken doorways, and at times, only his bare hands. The fighting style he uses to do so, leaving a trail of broken baddies in his wake, is silat -- a lightning-fast, bone-crunching Southeast Asian martial art that gets its best showcase in Gareth Evans’ festival sensation The Raid: Redemption.

Which is what Madonna seemingly does in her new song, "I Don't Give A," which Guy Ritchie is listening to somewhere, shaking his head. Few filmmakers use music as unabashedly and emotionally as former rock journalist Cameron Crowe, the man who turned Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" into an enduring emblem of '80s teen longing and illuminated the power of Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" as a late night bonding tune for even the most estranged of friends. Crowe's latest, We Bought a Zoo, is no different; the instant the reverberating beats of Tom Petty's "Don't Come Around Here No More" kick in, lonely and sparse, turning increasingly anthemic by the verse as Matt Damon's son is expelled from school and Damon uproots his family to a rural fixer-upper of a zoo with the promise of new beginnings, you know you're in for yet another Crowe Moment.
