Crank your man crush meters to 11: Brad Pitt is said to be set to produce and co-star with Michael Fassbender and Chiwetel Ejiofor in Twelve Years a Slave, according to a Playlist report (plucked from Screen Daily and verified by Pitt's production company, Plan B). The period drama is based on the life of Solomon Northup, an educated black man who was tricked into slavery in the 1850s and marks Fassbender's third collaboration with director Steve McQueen (Hunger, Shame). Monday brought more bad news to the reportedly beleaguered production of the zombie flick World War Z, produced by and starring Brad Pitt, when SWAT in Budapest raided a warehouse storing prop guns for the film. According to Variety, Brad Pitt is negotiating to play the title role in the assassin thriller The Gray Man, adapted by Adam Cozad from Mark Greaney's 2009 novel. The role would see Pitt as Court Gentry, an ex-CIA operative known for his lethal skill who goes on the run after his last job goes wrong, with action taking place across the globe. Speaking with the U.K.'s Telegraph, Angelina Jolie addressed the inevitable comparisons between her future performance as Egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra and Elizabeth Taylor's iconic 1963 turn. "My performance will never be as lovely as Elizabeth's," she demurred, explaining that her David Fincher-directed version will be a more realistic biopic.
