Who else here mutters at least once a week, "Super 8 better be fantastic"? At this point, I'm too intrigued and confused by J.J. Abrams' blockbuster to be let down! This new clip (via Moviefone) from the Star Trek guru's ode to backyard fillmmaking features another glimpse of the big train crash, a closeup of Elle Fanning, and a bit more dialogue. Cannot wait for June 10.

The MMA sequel Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown has a new trailer, and it's got everything: Topless young men getting sweaty in the gym, winsome love interests who may or may not be strippers, at least one slo-mo jump-punch, and plenty of Michael Jai White, who co-stars as an aging MMA veteran-slash-mentor and makes his directorial debut. "Why exactly are you in this thing?" asks a comely young lady. "I need this," answers Beefy Never Back Down 2 Ingénue #4. Don't we know it.

The Today show treated Movieline's scrumdiddlyumptious readership to a thrill this morning, reuniting key cast members from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (minus Gene Wilder and the late Jack Albertson) 40 years later. Does Charlie Bucket still look fresh as a daisy? Did Violet Beauregarde age into an adorable blueberry? Does Mrs. Bucket still sing "Cheer Up, Charlie" into the night? Prepare yourself a fizzy-lifting drink and click through for video.

Since pretty much the time the world press arrived on the scene last week, the burning question facing this year's Cannes Film Festival was, "Will Tree of Life director Terrence Malick show his face?" We pretty much know now that he won't, but that didn't stop Guardian gadfly Xan Brooks from digging further into the "Where's Terry?" phenomenon with the help of such friends as Movieline's own Stephanie Zacharek.

1999's Election is probably Reese Witherspoon's very best role. As laser-eyed grade-grubber Tracy Flick who had her sights set on becoming the school body president, Witherspoon was equal parts venomous and hilarious--nothing would stop Flick's bloodthirsty rise to the top. And its bleakly funny ending, though a bit of a bummer, rang true to the mordant black humor that runs through the rest of Election. But now the original ending (that's evidently true to the source novel) has surfaced and we see that the audience narrowly missed a coda that's all hugs and accepted apologies and other bits of bland porridge. Check it out below! [Vulture]

You can keep your Fast Fiveses and your assorted overproduced Pirates--the summer movie I'm most looking forward to is X-Men First Class. And now we've got two new television spots to further whet our appetites for our favorite Homo Superiors in the 1960s. Thankfully, I don't think I'll ever tire of Michael Fassbender telling that me peace was never an option. And check out wee baby Professor X!

Somehow Kung Fu Panda is a much more intriguing concept than Sumo Seahorse or Capoeira Jaguar -- apologies to our Japanese and Brazilian readers, respectively -- and in the 3-D sequel, we get more of the Jack Black-voiced antics we've come to (honestly) love about this franchise. Plus: How cute is that damn tiger? Seriously knocks Shrek's Puss in Boots right out of the animated zoo enclosure.

Let's hope Alec Baldwin's ultimate decision about co-starring in Rock of Ages doesn't come down to the baseball rooting interests of his fellow cast members. In this latest clip from New Era's ingenious 2011 ad campaign, the dyed-in-the-wool Yankees fan reacts a bit violently to his team's initial poor play against the Boston Red Sox. Unfortunately for Sox fan John Krasinski, that means a right hook to the jaw. Click ahead to watch.

Much has been made about how Cars 2 is the very opposite of what the Pixar brand stands for: a money-driven sequel designed to push merchandise at the expense of creative ingenuity. And yet: Who cares when Cars 2 looks like a big, brightly-colored good time adventure that every kid under the age of 12 will adore the world over? Click ahead for the latest trailer.
