This is horrible: Sally Menke, the veteran film editor who built her reputation over nearly two decades as the ace cutter to Quentin Tarantino's auteurist savant, was found dead this morning near Griffith Park in L.A. She was 56. No cause of death has yet been released; Menke hadn't been seen since going hiking in the area with her dog during Monday's extreme heat.
Because of more intellectual pursuits -- like, y'know, watching Gossip Girl -- I didn't see last night's edition of Dancing with the Stars (look for Louis Virtel's full recap later today). Having seen the show before, however, I know that when a celebrity gets all 8s from the judges they have done well for themselves. So forgive me for not believing Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron when he says that the fairly aggressive boos heard during last night telecast weren't for special guest Sarah Palin, but instead because of crowd dismay over Jennifer Grey's total score.

Lost star Maggie Grace has been confirmed to play Irina, an apparently crucial new character in Twilight: Breaking Dawn who poses a threat to Bella. You may remember Grace as Liam Neeson's daughter in Taken who gets a rather harsh comeuppance for trying to follow U2 on their European tour without telling her dad. Here she plays a "vegetarian" vampire, which according to Twilight Wiki (Yep, that exists.) means that she lives off of animal blood as opposed to human. Sorry, P.E.T.A. [Deadline]
