Our numerous pleas to stop with the 80's references in film and tv have apparently fallen on deaf ears. Within the first 10 seconds of the Skateland trailer, we've got a precious, hip mixtape reference and a loving closeup of wheels on the floor of a skating rink. Yep, there's another aimless guy who didn't know how to let go of adulthood two decades ago, and another movie with a window into his kind-of-hilarious and kind-of-heart-wrenching journey. Twilight's Ashley Greene is along for support this time around.

Oh, internet! First you give us an unofficial, grainy looks at the first photo of the characters in X-Men: First Class, then you give us a supposedly official, high-res look at the same photo...and now you tell us that wasn't official either. In fact, director Matthew Vaughn is furious about that last photo. So furious, that he's going to say the F-word several times and give us actual official photos of Michael Fassbender as Magneto and James McAvoy as Professor Xavier. Meanwhile, an equally approved poster for the film has hit as well. See all three and read more about Vaughn's take on the film after the jump.

If you were hoping to catch a glimpse of Amanda Seyfried smiling in the new trailer for Catherine Hardwicke's Twilight-esque ode to red capes on white snow...I'm sorry. According to the new Red Riding Hood trailer, these werewolf love affairs really take their toll. But hey, Gary Oldman is leading the witch hunt party of the century and he's having a hell of a time! Everyone's invited! Even Julie Christie's going to show up for a few minutes! Come on down!

· Remember that band Blink-182 that put out pop punk albums Enema of the State and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket? Well, the group's vocalist/guitarist Tom DeLonge and his new band Angels & Airwaves have commissioned a sci-fi film called Love from director William Eubank. And it actually looks good, especially knowing that the Civil War (that's right) and space scenes were filmed in the backyard of the filmmaker's childhood home. [YouTube]

If you frequent many geek sites, the chances are good that you spotted the first image of Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class online late Tuesday. Alas, that wasn't the official release, meaning if you've been staring at a grainy picture of Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, James McAvoy and the other X-Men for 24 hours, you're in luck! Fox has released the official official first look at the cast, in easily identifiable line-up form. Let's take a look.

Today, Waner Bros. announced that Anne Hathaway will be playing the role of Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan's upcoming Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. Though it went unsaid in the press release, it's a safe bet to assume that Kyle -- who, in every other iteration of Batman, becomes Catwoman -- will transform into Batman's arch nemesis in this version, too. What does Hathaway have in store for her in terms of living up to the on-screen presence of Catwoman when she (we presume) dons her leather suit? Let's take a look back at the history of other actresses to play Ms. Kyle on-screen.

Here at Movieline HQ, we're relatively obsessed with the ridiculously disgusting look of Peter Sarsgaard's villainous Hector Hammond in the upcoming summer blockbuster Green Lantern. That mustache. That hairstyle. That ill-fitting wardrobe. Just imagine what Sarsgaard-as-Hammond will look like when he transforms into an alien-assisted supervillain! (SFX: Rimshot.) Click ahead to see the latest still from Green Lantern, but be forewarned: Even without an abnormally large head, Hector Hammond still looks gross.

· OK, not really, but there is something silly about a grown man discussing the four facets of his personality in cartoon form. Or at least there should be. For my part, "Business Lebron" is the best, because he dresses like a member of Sly and the Family Stone. Click ahead to watch Lebron James read a cue card, and then stick around for more Buzz Break.

In this weekend's surprisingly not-near-as-bad-as-it-could-have-been release, No Strings Attached, Natalie Portman plays a doctor who's too busy for a proper relationship, and instead creates a pact with Ashton Kutcher that develops into a "sex-only" one. How did Portman transform herself from child star to the odds-on favorite to take home Oscar gold (note: not for No Strings Attached) next month? You can always trace a direct line through a handful of important roles to illustrate what led to an actor's current success, and with Portman, that line has been on a steady uphill climb sine her debut in Léon. So let's look at eight performances -- including something called "World Patrol Kids" -- that trace the evolution of one Natalie Hershlag.

That sound you just heard was the Internet exploding. Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. announced today that Oscar co-host Anne Hathaway will take the role of "Selina Kyle" in The Dark Knight Rises. So, Catwoman? Nolan doesn't say specifically in the press release: "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story." The director does confirm one villain, though: Tom Hardy will be playing the villainous Bane, and not The Riddler or Dr. Hugo Strange or any other obscure Batman foe. [Deadline]
This is the type of post that you'll scoff at simply as another example of us Movieline haters trying to hate. I assure you, though: It's not. I am not a hater. (In this case.) I love, love, love Jason Segel -- the man is a comic wizard, who is also capable of playing poignant, touching drama, and playing it well; see the last two episodes of How I Met Your Mother, or a lot of the downcast parts of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, for reference. I love that Jason Segel loves the Muppets -- so much that he cried when he met Kermit. I love the Muppets! Especially The Muppets Take Manhattan, which includes the perfect amount of melancholy, whimsy and song. That said: Enough, already, about The Muppets.

There's good news and there's bad news about the latest Apple Talk in New York City co-hosted by Movieline. Bad news first, I suppose: It will not likely feature any surprise Clint Howard appearances. But then there's the good news: Jason Statham will be on hand discussing his new film The Mechanic.

Where do you go when you want the honest skinny on one of 2011's most anticipated -- and possibly questionable -- blockbusters? In the case of Captain America: The First Avenger, you go to Joe Johnston. Never mind that he's the director and a paid Marvel employee.

Forget Armond White; when it comes to curmudgeonly New York film critics, no one can top Rex Reed. He's the O.G. of vitriol, snark and just plain nastiness. "After a string of flops, the lovely, accomplished and underappreciated Natalie Portman achieved something of a career breakthrough in the pretentious horror flick Black Swan," Reed writes in his review of No Strings Attached. "Now, before the impact has worn off, and on the verge of an Oscar nomination, she crumbles like a mildewed crumpet. Short of breaking into the editing lab and destroying the negative, she should have done everything legally possible to stop the ill-timed release of a vulgar, stupid pile of junk called No Strings Attached. This movie could destroy everything." Looks like someone didn't hear that the Norbit thing was over. [NYO]
