Is Bradley Cooper Seriously About to Become The Crow?

The hits keep coming on Remake/Adaptation Tuesday, with a report that your new Crow has been found in the perennially sun-tanned, jovial, frat boy-friendly Bradley Cooper, which makes perfect sense... right? I mean, who can't picture the star of such nightmarish genre visions as Valentine's Day and All About Steve as Eric Draven, the iconic rock star at the center of The Crow who rises from the ashes to avenge his lady's murder in the role previously portrayed by the late Brandon Lee?

Reggae Classic The Harder They Come Getting a Remake

Guys, some dubious remakes are on the way (including The Crow with Bradley Cooper -- run, Bradley, it's a trap!), but here's one we can get behind: The 1972 Jamaican classic The Harder They Come is coming back as a remake. The original starred Jimmy Cliff as a reggae singer who turns to a life of crime and violence, but producer Justine Henzell (whose father Perry wrote and directed the original) is confident the new verison can honor the original while remaining fresh. I know one dancing reggae superstar who should be included. [Latino Review]

Tom Hanks Attached to Cloud Atlas Adaptation

Tom Hanks will star in Cloud Atlas, an upcoming Focus Features adaptation of David Mitchell's 2004 book about six interconnected stories with settings ranging from the 19th century South Pacific to the post-apocalyptic future. Matrix directors Andy and Lana Wachowski and Run Lola Run director Tom Tykwer will helm and co-write the movie. Honestly, Hanx; another post-apocalyptic movie? Punchline was quite enough. [Deadline]

First Episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Features Kano, Jax, Sonya Blade

The Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series starring Michael Jai White as Jax and Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade has finally premiered, sustaining director Kevin Tancharoen's tacit promise to do justice to the beloved '90s video game where Paul W.S. Anderson's 1995 feature film version decidedly did not. After the jump, watch the first 12-minute episode and decide if it delivers enough action, Mortal Kombat references, and fatalities to satisfy.

Joaquin Phoenix Considers Coming Out of Retirement For P.T. Anderson's Scientology Film

I'm Still Here star Joaquin Phoenix might cancel his early retirement to co-star in Paul Thomas Anderson's much anticipated Scientology film, which was at one point titled The Master. Philip Seymour Hoffman will star as a charismatic leader a la L. Ron Hubbard; Phoenix would play Freddie Sutton, "an alcoholic drifter who becomes [Hoffman's onscreen] right-hand man only to begin questioning his manipulative mentor." Most importantly, this casting development brings us hope that the film, which was postponed last September before acquiring a 25-year-old financier, will actually be made. [Variety]

James Cameron: 3-D Prophet or Hollywood Huckster?

We need to talk about James Cameron. Like, really talk about him -- especially after Monday's announcement of his new alliance to develop and enhance 3-D technology for broadcasters. Working alongside cinematographer Vince Pace, with whom Cameron created the Fusion camera system that shot Avatar, the Oscar-winner now plans to "make 3-D ubiquitous over the next five to 10 years on all platforms." We kind of knew this was coming, but do you believe him? Do you even want to believe him?

Cowboys & Aliens Trailer to Debut During American Idol April 14

The latest trailer for Cowboys & Aliens, Jon Favreau's heart-wrenching Biblical allegory (fingers crossed), will premiere during the American Idol results show this Thursday. I hope this means Harrison Ford will be forced to sit in the audience with Ryan Seacrest. "Harrison, you lookin' forward to kicking some alien butt on the big screen?" Ryan will ask, legs jauntily folded. "Hrmmmmphhh," Harrison will reply. "I'm just so damn tired." Can't wait! [Deadline]

First Look at Josh Brolin On Set of Men In Black 3 Looks Oddly Familar

· As enterprising fans of the Men in Black III production know, Josh Brolin will star opposite Will Smith in the new film as the 1960s version of Agent K -- the man in black made famous by Tommy Lee Jones. Judging from this first look of Brolin and Smith yucking it up on the New York set (via Daily Mail) MIB 3 casting director Ellen Chenoweth should get a high-five for picking Brolin to play the younger Jones, if only because he looks more like a younger Jones than even a younger Jones. Take that, de-aged visual effect Jeff Bridges! Click ahead to see, then stick around for more Buzz Break.

Even Real-Life Warlocks Are Deeply Offended By Your Highness

If you paid $12 to see Your Highness this weekend, there is a good chance that you left feeling a little offended that legitimate talents like Danny McBride, James Franco and Natalie Portman would swindle you out of an enjoyable movie-going experience. As emotionally bankrupt as you may have felt after seeing Zooey Deschanel try to fit a severed minotaur appendage in her mouth though, you probably aren't organizing a boycott of the David Gordon Green medieval stoner comedy like a few real-life warlocks are. So what exactly was it about the film that left these male witches feeling so insulted?

Tom Wilkinson Should Play The Riddler, Says Tom Wilkinson

The two years of fun everyone had speculatively casting Christopher Nolan's final Batman movie has just about reached its end -- and with the additions of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Tom Hardy and Josh Pence to the already packed cast, not a moment too soon -- but that doesn't mean at least one former Batman cast member can't pitch himself as a major villain. Isn't that right, Tom Wilkinson?
