Ridley Scott may or may not be spilling details on how Prometheus factors into the Alien franchise, but a new clip from the film sheds a few shards of light on the connection, and cleverly so: Watch Guy Pearce as Peter Weyland (CEO of Weyland Corporation, to become the future Weyland-Yutani Corp.) give a riveting TED Talk, circa 2023, promising a bright new future to the tech set.

Late night host Jimmy Kimmel's tradition of filming a post-Oscar movie-related spoof continued Sunday night with a "trailer" for Movie: The Movie, the ultimate star-studded epic to end all epics. In addition to featuring a host of stars, from Taylor Lautner to Helen Mirren to Tyler Perry (er, "Daniel Day-Lewis as Tyler Perry as George Washington"), the Kimmel-produced gag covered just about every genre and trope known to the movies. I give it a few years before some suit turns this into a reality.

In a world where Spike Lee has his own variety of Absolut and Will Ferrell devotedly shills for Old Milwaukee, it's important to point out when the intersection of celebrities and booze actually results in something encouraging. Take Charlize Theron, who was photographed Sunday carrying some of America's finest craft beer to a Super Bowl party. A whole case of it.

Thanks to the wonders of Twitter, we already know how Albert Brooks feels about this morning's brutal Oscar-nomination snub. But how is the rest of the Academy's snubculture faring? We may never know entirely, but at least their unofficial ambassador Patton Oswalt has the fan-fiction angle covered -- and it sounds like this group has the Governors Ball beat.

Earlier today 20th Century Fox unveiled a shiny new look at Michael Fassbender in Ridley Scott's 2012 Alien related event pic Prometheus (via Empire), all blond and space-suited. Exciting! As if that wasn't enough to get your juices flowing, an unofficial version of the first trailer for the sci-fi thriller oozed onto the interwebs mere hours ago, and although it's shaky-cammed with fuzzy audio and is even labeled "Leaked"... it's kind of adrenaline-pumpingly awesome.

If you're both a movie fan and a consummate statistician, it's easy to love and appreciate the Oscars for shoehorning the majority of film history into a manageable grading rubric. I'm an Oscar apologist myself, and I still have one bone to pick with the Academy -- and all award-spewing organizations: the unnecessary reliance on gender-based categories. Is it not more thrilling to pit all actors against each other? Is there such an objective difference between Jeff Bridges and Sandra Bullock? Meryl Streep and Robert Downey Jr.? "Actor" is a gender-neutral term, and I think we'd all better off -- and better entertained -- without the meaningless siphoning. Thus, I'm stacking up the best performances of 2011 without categorical regard for gender or role size. It's a winner-take-all affair, and this winner definitely wants it all. Here's my top 10:

Charlize Theron's Best Actress Oscar win in 2003 was hardly unexpected. Roger Ebert had declared her performance as Aileen Wuornos in Monster "one of the greatest performances in the history of the cinema," and she cleaned up at the Golden Globes and Independent Spirit Awards. But there's no denying that Theron's win followed in a certain Oscar tradition, and in this funny clip with MTV, Theron acknowledges it as such. Let's compare notes with the Young Adult star and come up with our own recipes for Oscar victories in the big four acting categories.

Ridley Scott has settled on a tagline for his pseudo-prequel to Alien, the star-studded June 2013 release Prometheus: "The Search For Our Beginning Could Lead To Our End." Does that sound a little too much like the Breaking Dawn: Part I tag "Forever is Only the Beginning" to anyone? Both are Hallmarkian takes on mortality, which is a shame considering Prometheus should be one of the most original thrillers of next year. Its new poster, along with our musings thereon, follow.

Here's what I've gathered from the new Snow White and the Huntsman trailer: Charlize Theron's Evil Queen is pissed, Kristen Stewart's Snow White is innocent, and the color saturation of this fairytale world looks like a Crayola-dappled Middle Earth. Pretty spectacular.

Set photos of an armored Kristen Stewart and the star's own description of Snow White and the Huntsman's bloody edge had me thinking this could be the more transgressive of the two Snow White projects in the works (the other being Tarsem's newly titled Mirror, Mirror, starring Lily Collins and Armie Hammer). The first official SWATH banner art, however, suggests something a bit more kid-friendly, even Alice in Wonderland-esque. Or am I reading too much into the fantastical, Photoshopped flora and fauna swirling around Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, and the disembodied head of evil queen Charlize Theron?

Because it looks complicated to make, has very limited mobility, and is kind of super creepy, this homemade Pixar-inspired costume -- a full-body reconstruction of the anthropomorphic Pixar Luxo lamp logo -- may not be the best costume idea for your Halloween movie-related revelries. But you've got to see it in action. Shivers. Check it out and stick around for your daily Buzz Break.

This morning, we revisited Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen in Snow White and the Huntsman and this afternoon, we get to see the Academy Award-winning actress as a suburban ice princess who returns to her hometown in sweats to lie to Hampton Inn employees, blatantly flirt with her married high school sweetheart and drink around the clock. Click through to see the first trailer for Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody's next joint venture, Young Adult.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest Evil Queen of them all? Is it Julia Roberts, who will star opposite Lily Collins's Snow White in Tarsem Singh's untitled fairy tale adaptation? Or is it Charlize Theron, who will play the wicked queen opposite Kristen Stewart's armored Disney princess in Snow White and the Huntsman? Take a look at the side-by-side comparison below before deciding for yourself.

Ever since hearing Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron promote their upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman project as dark, gritty and atypical of the Disney franchise at Comic-Con, we've been excited to see what the cast and director Rupert Sanders would come up with. Now, on the heels of the promising concept artwork, some set photos have surfaced showing Stewart as a horse-riding, cigarette-smoking, armor-wearing princess unlike any other.

The new Dior short film/luxury ad starring celebrity spokesmodel Charlize Theron makes a number of assumptions off the bat. First and foremost, that you'd believe screen icons Grace Kelly, Marlene Dietrich, and Marilyn Monroe would shill for any designer even in death, but more so? That Theron, statuesque living goddess that she is, is the natural glam heir to those ladies' legacy. Then again, it was filmed inside of Versailles. Point, Charlize!
