We all celebrate Mother's Day a little differently. Some take Mom out to a lovely brunch, other have a nice bouquet of flowers delivered. I like to celebrate by screening Mommie Dearest and watching Faye Dunaway in full kabuki regalia as Joan Crawford beat the holy hell out of her adopted daughter with a wire hanger. If Thursday's character specific X-Men: First Class trailers left you wanting more, good news! After a sea of topless mermaid posters and some sketchy promotional artwork, Disney has finally released the first clip from this summer's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. It may not include any clothes-poor ocean nymphs or pencil portraits of Penelope Cruz but it does feature Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow as he charms and chandelier-swings his way out of an awkward situation with the King of England and Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush). It may have been released last year, but I think we can agree that short films about dinner table anarchy and Nazi confrontation are a cinematic evergreen. Lost scribe Damon Lindelof's strange 10-minute romp centers around Dade Klublershturf (Samm Levine of Freaks and Geeks), who brings home his German girlfriend (Rachel Nichols) to bewildered parents played by the awesome Lainie Kazan and George Segal (whose work here is the closest thing you'll see to a hybrid of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and Just Shoot Me). Then a pre-Thor Chris Hemsworth joins the fun as a smiley member of the Fourth Reich. Makes perfect sense, no? Watch after the jump.
