Television and theater producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will produce the 85th Academy Awards, the Academy's president Hawk Koch said Thursday. This will be their first turn at producing the Oscars, which are slated for Sunday, February 24, 2013.

Thanks to the cajoling of a local critic, Chicago cinephiles got an advance look at Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master on Thursday night at a special 70 mm screening of the highly anticipated feature.
The sold-out benefit screening took place at Chicago's Art Deco landmark, the Music Box Theatre, which is the only movie house in the Windy City capable of projecting 70 mm film stock. more »
Shia LaBeouf popped up on a whim last weekend at Chicago's C2E2 to peddle three original comic books he created, and thanks to the lucky and enterprising comics fans on the ground the internet now has a look at the imagery and philosophical musings whirling around in Shia's brain. Like: Random thoughts on poets (they bore him), someone who looks an awful lot like the boogeyman (okay, LaBeouf pal Marilyn Manson), and the adventures of a canyon-jumping biker and his sombrero-wearing pal.
