But can her feature debut in Peter Berg's summer blockbuster counteract the criticism she's getting from reuniting, at least professionally, with Chris Brown?
On a June visit to the Film 44 offices in Santa Monica, Battleship director Peter Berg laid out his vision for the May 18, 2012 epic actioner. "Battleship is intended to be a piece of big, fun escapism," he explained, playing snippets of footage in the cozy darkness of his editing suite. "It's not to say we don't take ourselves seriously; we do aspire for a certain level of emotion and reality, but this is not a film that's meant to traumatize."
How's this for under-the-radar weekend news: Warner Bros. is moving ahead with its live-action/animation hybrid LEGO movie, which should hit screens in 2014. According to Variety, the pic will be comprised of 80 percent animation, to be handled by Animal Logic, the Aussie-based vfx house behind Happy Feet and Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, which could mean gorgeously rendered and lifelike...
