You'll be hearing more from our intrepid Jen Yamato from the WonderCon panel on Tarsem Singh's god fight flick Immortals later on, but for now take a gander at these just released posters for some of the characters. Pictured are new Superman Henry Cavill as Theseus, Luke Evans as Zeus, Kellan Lutz as Poseidon, Isabel Lucas as Athena and Daniel Sharman as Aries. Other than the dusky nectarine color scheme, it looks like the movie is very consciously trying to get some of that sweet, sweet 300 money by aping the look and feel of that other sword 'n sandals stab epic. But bonus points to anyone who can tell me what that Tang-like liquid is that's swirling all around them.

So much for the luck of the Irish. Though she was rumored to be the front-runner, Saoirse Ronan couldn't (or wouldn't) close the deal, leaving director Tarsem Singh to pick Lily Collins to play Snow White in his sexy, adult re-imagining of the classic fairy tale. Lily, daughter of horrible musician and undeserved Oscar winner Phil Collins, will be joining Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott and Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen. [Deadline]
Despite it being about as fun as a tracheotomy, the Easter Bunny exposé Hop won the top spot this Friday night, sending the wibbley-wobbly timey-wimey Source Code to second place. If only you could crap candy too, Jake! And right behind dear ol' Jake was the haunted house antics of Insidious, scoring a close number three. Your Friday box office is here.

Friday at WonderCon, Blake Lively revealed how she nabbed the role of Carol Ferris in Green Lantern: Warner Bros. execs saw her striking turn as a drug-addicted hot mess in The Town and invited her to read for the part. Coincidentally, Amy Adams landed her Lois Lane gig on the heels of her performance in The Fighter, so let's call it a trend -- the Massachusetts Moxie Leading Lady Rule, in which throwing down on the streets of the Bay State proves that you're more than capable of hanging with supermen.

Another April Fools' Day in the books, and your friendly editors at Movieline HQ didn't succumb to one prank. The social networking world went cold on Friday morning when it was revealed that James Franco had apparently deleted his Twitter account. Turns out, he just didn't want all that attention. "My thought was, 'This is my Twitter. I can do whatever I want,'" Franco told Politico. "But certain companies I work with contacted me about what I was saying." As a result, he made the account private -- not that it matters. "Social media is over," said Franco. Noted. [Politico via Vulture]
Over 25 years after getting a tryout with the Chicago Cubs as a pitcher in The Natural, Robert Redford visited Wrigley Field on Friday to throw the first pitch at the team's home opener. (Sure, he was in town to promote The Conspirator, but still, it was special.) See how the left-handed legend fared in video ahead.

It looks like we might have a pair of winners in the Movieline-approved battle royale for the male leads in Hunger Games. Deadline reports that Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are the front-runners to play Gale and Peeta in the Gary Ross-directed film. "I love Peeta," Hutcherson told EW last month. "The character is so much who I am -- self deprecating, a people person. And he'd be such a great character to play! Like in the third book? Oh my God." Developing... [Deadline]
In case you haven't heard, Adam Sandler is busy casting his next film I Hate You, Dad, about "a father who moves in with his son and his fiancee, only to immediately start feuding with the bride-to-be." Sandler will play the father (obviously), Andy Samberg will play the son and Leighton Meester has just joined the cast as the troublesome fiancee. Sandler has also signed on a washed-up '90s rapper to play a large supporting role. Can you guess which one?

Yesterday, tragedy struck the production of Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn in the form of leaked stills depicting Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) consummating their relationship between the sheets. Movieline wondered whether the raciness of the images might actually win the franchise more fans but it appears the production team isn't willing to take that risk.

Production has started on the Will Ferrell and Adam McKay-produced Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, and contrary to what you might think about a Gary Sanchez Production, the mood on set seems serious. At least judging from the first set pictures released Thursday, which show stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton in black Matrix-y gear, prepping for their roles as bounty hunters in this 3-D continuation of the Grimm fairy tale. Take a look ahead.

The 2011 renaissance of Rutger Hauer begins in earnest with the release of Hobo with a Shotgun to on demand services today, but while speaking with the Los Angeles Times, Hauer couldn't help but speculate about the future life of one of his best known films. "If Christopher Nolan would be on it I'd say, 'All right, go for it!'" said Hauer about the proposed sequel/prequel plans for Blade Runner, Ridley Scott's 1982 classic. "But otherwise you can't do it. Blade Runner is such a unique film. How do you describe a diamond? I don't think you should ever touch it again." Mr. Nolan, if you're listening... [LAT/Hero Complex]
Lady Gaga's management dazzled the singer with a Movieline-friendly birthday gift: a pair of $40,000 ruby slippers made for Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz. The 25-year-old pop superstar showed off the glittery kicks on tour. Now someone has to buy Katy Perry a tin funnel cap, Rihanna a wild leonine mane, and Ke$ha a scarecrow suit -- unless, of course, they're already wearing those right now. That probability is at about 85 percent. Click through to watch Gaga ramble about the ruby slippers on a video from someone's cell phone.
