Excited for a J.J. Abrams-helmed Star Trek 2 to start up soon? Hold your intergalactic horses, says Zachary Quinto. "I know there are sort of erroneous reports that we're going back in January -- not true, as far as I know," he told MTV News at Comic-Con. Also, is J.J. so totally going to throw Trek over to direct Wicked, or am I reading too much into this apropos-of-nothing Quinto quote: "I would obviously love to see J.J. be directing every Star Trek movie that I'm ever affiliated with, but if it's not the case I'm sure that whoever does will be someone that he has chosen and that he believes in for whatever reason." After all the time he's spent on the Iron Man franchise, Jon Favreau is a Comic-Con mainstay, but his new sci-fi western Cowboys and Aliens presented a problem: He's only a few weeks into shooting it, so how could he possibly pull together yesterday's panel (and some effects-laden first footage) in time? He told Movieline how he managed it, and why.

He may be 65 years old, but Danny DeVito is plugged into youth culture: He has a twitter, a cult TV show, and a website called The Blood Factory full of low-budget, do-it-yourself horror shorts that he's directed. He was promoting the latter at Comic-Con, where I found him holding court with wife Rhea Perlman in front of a bloody, disemboweled corpse.

Creative differences happen all the time in Hollywood, but it's rare to see a statement acknowledging them as candid as the one recently released by Marvel head Kevin Feige. While confirming rumors that Edward Norton would not reprise his Hulk role in the Marvel superhero mashup The Avengers, Feige implied that Norton was something less than a team player. Tonight, I asked him whether he regretted his candor.

For a film filled with so many comedic superstars -- Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Jason Bateman, Jeffery Tambor, Bill Hader and more -- it was a rather subdued panel, possibly because it came hot on the heels of a stabbing and some police activity. But fortunately Seth Rogen was there to lighten the mood.

Moments after the panel for Resident Evil: Afterlife ended, shouts rang out from the center of the enormous Hall H here at Comic-Con calling for security. The lights were raised and paramedics rushed to the site. A Comic-Con hall worker confirmed that an attendee had been stabbed, reportedly with a pen; the victim was wheeled directly in front of me, his brow streaked with blood. San Diego Sheriff's Department responded and moments ago exited with a suspect in handcuffs. Click ahead to read the update.

Here in Hall H, we've been presented with a myriad of different film trailers, clips and teasers. But only one film can lay claim to the dubious honor of the Most Extreme Slo-Mo Ever. And the film market being what it is today, it's in 3D

As it is with many superhero movies these days, the race to cast the title role in Green Lantern was a very public one. Though Ryan Reynolds eventually won the part, Bradley Cooper, Justin Timberlake, and Jared Leto were among the finalists whose names found their way to the press. Today at a press conference at Comic-Con, Reynolds shared the tidbit that he thinks clinched it for him over his competition.

Wentworth Miller spent all four years of his stint on Prison Break convincing himself he wasn't a writer, but after the show wrapped, he spent four weeks writing the script Stoker -- a drama about a young girl and her mysterious, potentially murderous uncle -- and managed to attach A-list talent like Jodie Foster and Carey Mulligan. At Comic-Con, he told Movieline how it happened (and which Alfred Hitchcock movie Stoker is an homage to).

Motherchucker. At Comic-Con today, executive producers Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak announced that Linda Hamilton will guest star on the next season of Chuck. The former Sarah Connor will play Chuck's mysterious mom and likely be the catalyst for a handful of Terminator references this season. [EW]
Last night at Comic-Con, Dixon and I attended a party for Tron Legacy that was intended to evoke a futuristic club (and would have succeeded, if not for all the Myspace signage). The best part wasn't the Daft Punk music or the face-painted models. The best part was the shoes.

The Wired Cafe at Comic-Con has recreated True Blood's main restaurant, Merlotte's, and it is a fairly accurate adaptation, aside from the fact that none of the waitresses are taking their tops off and/or dying. There was also the weird little matter of Sam Trammell himself showing up behind the bar.
