Daniel Craig's Lament: No Heineken, No Skyfall

"We have relationships with a number of companies so that we can make this movie. The simple fact is that, without them, we couldn’t do it. It’s unfortunate but that’s how it is. [...] This movie costs a lot of money to make, it costs as nearly as much again if not more to promote, so we go where we can. The great thing is that Bond is a drinker, he always has been, it’s part of who he is, rightly or wrongly, you can make your own judgment about it, having a beer is no bad thing, in the movie it just happens to be Heineken." Somewhere in Hell, Frank Booth weeps. (Link NSFW, obvs.) [Moviefone via NYT]

It's not the Heineken, but that our current James Bond likely wears girl's underwear.

James Bond is the man's man, not someone so accounting you can dress whatever merchandise you want on him and he'll accomodate however much necessary to plead your case. As a boy, he didn't beat up his peers but dressed with the girls for their tea parties, leaving him with mostly that as his DNA -- that's what this has me thinking.

That bottle in his hand looks (badly) Photoshopped.

  • Dang it, Movieline, you ruined my surprise joke of quoting Frank Booth at top volume in the theater at the precise moment this horrible product placement occurs on opening night of Skyfall!! (The Dome will never know what hit it!)
