Real Housewives of New York Reality Check: Jill Zarin vs. the World
Last week on the Housewives of New York City, Bethenny taught a little class called "Selling the Sh*t Out Of An Apology For Socialites." This week, the SkinnyGirl was chained to a Pepperidge Farm street cart, where she shamelessly plugged the 100 calorie bread, and her toilet, where she shamelessly plugged her surprise pregnancy. Meanwhile, Alex pulled off her Brooklyn fashion show, Kelly worked the runway in an unflattering Big Bird dress, LuAnn toured Central Park in a rickshaw fueled by condescension, and a new housewife named Sonja introduced herself as Martin Scorsese's neighbor. But the most awe-inspiring moments from last night's installment came courtesy of Jill Zarin, who demonstrated that she can go from loving wife to petty bitch in the blink of the eye -- or in a swooshy Bravo edit. REAL: Jill's Barely-Masked Anger
In a few short seasons, Jill Zarin has gone from the show's comic relief to just another housewife villain, whose wrath is incited by as little as 160 characters ("Did you not Twitter [Bethenny] a kiss-ass message saying, 'It was so great to be with you the other day?' That really pissed me off.") Instead of trying to rationalize Jill's barely concealed rage, let's recap the insults:
· "When I arrived at Fashion Week in Brooklyn, I was horrified. It was so low-rent. The [red carpet] was next to a heap...of trash. I'm speechless."
· "The Countess wouldn't have been caught dead at anything Alex and Simon would do but I think that LuAnn would have pulled up with her driver and kept driving."
· (Playing on Ramona's insecurities minutes before the fashion show) "I don't think that necklace goes with that. It doesn't go with it. It's blue!"
· (Playing on Ramona's insecurities minutes before the fashion show) "Is that bra supposed to show?"
· "I was so overdressed. I should have been in a wife-beater and jeans. I felt like a moron. I just couldn't wait for the show to be over so I could get out of there."
· "When Ramona walked [onto the runway], she looked like an alien invaded her body. She walks like a robot with her neck stuck out like a giraffe and her eyes are bulging. She looked like an idiot."
· "These chairs are so uncomfortable. I'm dying."
· When Alex walked out, I really expected a lot. She has the body of a fashion model -- maybe not the face -- but I really expected a lot. When she walked out though, she looked like she was channeling the devil."
In short, Jill's unhappiness was very real.
FAKE: Jill Does Not Hate New Housewife Sonja Morgan Yet
Last night, Bravo threw another New York housewife into the mix: Sonja Morgan, or as she calls herself "Single Sonja, Upper East Sider, neighbor of Scorsese, townhouse owner with an elevator, believer in surgical procedures and sex." Unfortunately for Sonja, she has already aligned herself with LuAnn, the Ice Queen of New York City, and quickly lost sympathy with viewers when she offered to give up old $3,000 jackets from her Colorado closet for LuAnn's charity ("I have a closet for every place I have a home in.")
And the only thing that Jill could say about Sonja was, "My first impression of Sonja was I thought she was very pretty. I did. I think she is a very pretty lady."
Really, Jill? Don't play us.

well written. tho, sonja doesn't need to align with anyone- she is just trying to be interesting, and they're there b/c they're loaded. so, she accomplished showing us both- money and interesting. i'll be interested in her character, for sure. luann will be jealous and waiting for an opportunity to cut her down. jill will join. it will be about her lack of class and crassness re talking about sex, but truly, it will be about them being jealous b/c she looks good and gets it on and doesn't apologize for it.
i don't see Jill as a villain, rather a bright human being. Although I didn't see the show last night I did see Ramona walking down the runway and she DID... she looked like an alien and an idiot. You mean to tell me anything Jill said sounded like she was being untrue? I'm sure the seats were not comfortable and WHY would you have trash next to a red carpet? Would you see a garbage can next to the red carpet at the white house when a foreign dignitary arrives? Or at the Kodak Theater during the Oscars? While Luann is absolutely anything BUT classy... you mean to tell me what Jill said about her telling her driver to keep driving would not be true?
Frankly, I love Jill. She's a bitch, she's insecure, she's needy, she's strong, she's generous, she's codependent... in short, she's a bloody mess. Which makes her marvelously human.
Jill is a wreck!...She is clearly the girl in high school that wanted to be popular and wasn't...You can clearly tell from the short UNEDITED piece when she was being introduced to Sonja that she was trying to seem important...and just as she was about to trash Ramona to Sonja SHE STOPPED bc she realized that Ramona + Sonja have known each other for years...WHY STOP?...IF YOU ARE WHO YOU SAY YOU ARE CARRY ON!!!...Jill clearly needs to be the center of attention and has shown herself to be pathetically posing as a socialite of NYC!!!

Where is the sweet and kind Jill I first met on the Housewives? The Jill I see now is a shrew. Yes, Ramona picks the worst times to express her opinions, but honestly, Jill has become a real witch with a B.
When Jill was talking about Alex not being so pretty in the face, she should remember that ugly goes all the way to the bone. And Jill, honey, you are ugly both inside and out. I once admired you, but no more.
How could you do a review of Jill and not use the word TOXIC. I agree she is a mess this year. I have a feeling her sister and mother must of put it in head that she is better and being dragged down by those other women.
Honesty, Jill and Luanne are catty little B's. I mean really. Jill backstabs at every opportunity and Luanne acts as if she is the Guard or protector. Jill is a horrible person only into herself. She should watch the show to see how horrible she is. What kind of person puts her personal calls on speak so that other people can hear the conversation. She is so needy and an absolute horrible friend.

This article is spot-on. Yes, Bethenney has said things that she shouldn't have said, but all-in-all she seems to say things in a defensive way after she'd been attacked or thrown under the bus. I'm not saying it's right, but I can see where she's coming from.
Jill is a hateful, ignorant, childish little person. What kind of a friend is she to anyone?? I thought LuAnne was her BFF now, but what kind of BFF talks about a fashion show, asks why she wasn't asked to walk in it, and then mention LuAnne used to be a model and could walk in it and, in the same breath, say "she's no size 4...I'M a size 4...but she at least has experience". What?!? Are you really going to trash a friend, because you have a complete inability to say anything nice about another woman without backhanding her with an insult at the same time? Oh, by the way, YOU'RE no size 4. I'm willing to bet LuAnne is a size 2, but Jill most definitely isn't close to a 4.
LuAnne is just as bad as Jill - no life. Needs to live through others. Cannot handle seeing two people get along well and be real friends. To constantly speak of how much class you have is the same thing as someone constantly telling everyone how beautiful they are - if you have to tell everyone how classy or beautiful you are, then you obviously aren't. People can see classy without you having to tell them how classy you are. If you are, they'll already know.
Kelly is just a dimwit. Poor girl - she has no idea that she acts like she's had a lobotomy. I feel badly for her children. They don't even respect her. I just wish she could look in the mirror and see what a dullard she is and fix it before it's too late. Oh yeah, and put on some damn clothes. Alex is the greatest. I love her. I've loved her since the moment I started watching the show. She's so normal and it's no in her to be a total bitch. She does consider the situation and the feelings of others, which is far beyond any of the other women on the show. Yes, she blew up and delivered the "message" to Jill the wrong way, but I can't blame her. She was put on the spot and Kelly didn't have to invite LuAnne over and make a spectacle of it all. Jill totally deserved it, anyway. It's called "karma", darling.
And, even though she's a total whackjob, I love Ramona. She is who she is and she makes no apologies. Would I want to slap her? Hell yeah. But, I like her, anyway. I could be a casual friend to her, at least. Hang out and such, but nothing more.

Jill is a pathetic funny looking woman. Says she's all about the truth but talks crap about every one of the housewives BEHIND THEIR BACKS. Her new buddy luanne included. She constantly talks about how much everything costs. Tacky. Also tacky are her clothes. That brown leather thing she wears in the opening of the show is horrific. And that dress or rather costume she wore to the Sak's private party was sad. She used to be sort of funny. Now she's just a nasty hag. The only time she made me laugh so far was when she was at the photo shoot with her mom. Thinking she's attractive. Flipping her hair and posing with that funny looking face and weird body. Now that was comedy!
