What Will Happen On the Grey's Anatomy Season Finale?

Heigl225.jpg

Forget health care reform. The big news last night came from Grey's Anatomy executive producer Shonda Rhimes. Via her Twitter feed, the feisty showrunner announced that the upcoming season finale is "a serious game-changer for every single character." Cue: ominous thunderclaps! Assuming this missive means something horrible will befall Katherine Heigl's Dr. Izzie Stevens—Rhimes does seem to take a certain delight in getting rid of actors she has a problem with by disposing of their characters in awful ways; see: T.R. Knight's George getting hit by a bus—what other "game-changing" surprises could be in store for your favorite Seattle Grace/Mercy West characters? To the speculation!

In a move designed to make Sean Hannity's head explode, Mark, Callie and Arizona will get married, Big Love-style

Since Rhimes has gone out of her way to call Grey's resident Lesbian couple, Callie and Arizona (yes, there is a character on this show named Arizona), "made for each other," she probably won't break them up. That's too bad because in real life, Sara Ramirez (Callie) has insane chemistry with Eric Dane (the reformed Lothario, Mark Sloan) and none with Jessica Capshaw (Arizona). The only solution? A three-way but with wedding bells. Think: a more wholesome Gossip Girl.

McDreamy will undergo a controversial surgery to stop his eyes from constantly watering up

Seriously. Every single time he's on camera, Patrick Dempsey gets all misty. Even when he's smiling, he looks like he's about to cry. His eyes didn't do that in Valentine's Day, so it's clearly just indigenous to Grey's Anatomy. What is that?

The season finale will end with all the characters breaking the fourth wall, allowing Grey's Anatomy to go into next season as the first soap opera reality show

For years, the behind the scenes drama surrounding Grey's Anatomy has been better than anything Rhimes could think to write. And even without problem children Heigl and Knight, the chances are good that backstabbing will remain the coin of the realm. So why not show all that juicy stuff on television? Think of the ratings! How this hasn't been thought of yet is one of the great Hollywood mysteries.

    Funny.

Lousy. There was no substance in your entry at all, just pointless rambling.
By the way, Mark and Callie are funny as friends, but Arizona and Callie are definitely made for each other. There are many people out there who think they have an amazing chemistry together..pretty sure they're one of the most popular couples on the show as of late!
And Shonda Rhimes didn't kill off George because she had a problem with T.R., T.R. wanted to end his contract so he can do broadway and other things. The Season 5 finale was AMAZING.

  • Hayley says:

I have to disagree with you, I think Sara Ramirez has chemistry with everyone! I even like the scenes she has with Chandra Wilson and I love Arizona! Jessica Capshaw is the best that could happen to season 5 of Grey's and I'm glad they brought her back this season.

  • laura says:

I totally agree. Sara/Eric Mark and Callie have INSANE CHEMISTRY! Best on the show. They never had a real chance as a couple and they would rock. There are a lot of Mallie fans that support them and want to see them together.

  • Thomas says:

Shondra-----as sure fire way to rock Grey's and send it off in a whole new direction. simple................
    BRING BACK BURKE!

  • Donna Holmes says:

While I like Callie and Arizona together, somewhere in the back of my
mind, I keep seeing Callie with Mark on a more permanent basis. Mark and Callie have been true friends forever and former sex buddies as well. Arizona has made it clear she does not want kids and Callie and Mark want kids...so I can see the 3 of them all working it out so that everyone gets what they really want! Please do something about Meredith and her McDreamy cause that relationship is in snooze ville! We want more on Bailey and her new man...keep it coming...Bailey is such a remarkable character and, we like it when she is focused on something other than the medicine. Yang's relationship with the army guy could use some shaking up..make it more interesting or send him back to Iraq! Finally, yeah !!! for getting rid of Izzy. After season 4, she was a real waste of film.

  • Tom says:

I think it is time for some real excitement on this show . Maybe Derek and Meredith start having kids . I like Callie and Arizona , but I think they need to explre it more . Like explaining when Arizona knew she was a Lesbian. Or even have her date a man to see how that would go.I think it's pretty much known that Lexi loves Mark time to put them back together. I think also it's time to get out of the Hospital, lets see these people doing an activity together.Let Meredith and Derek go see Addison to treat a patient with a Brain injury from surfing.I have to say I love this show from day one because there is so much that can be done with the plots ,characters, & storyline. It made me feel good when I was down.

  • katehy schell says:

I am very upset with grey's story line of lesbians, why is it we can't watch a show without gays or lesbians in bed?Its hard to explain to young kids why they are kissing same sex.

  • monica says:

Shonda is ruining everything! Unfortunately Grey´s Anatomy is getting pretty dull and it´s upseting everyone and she said there would be at least 8 seasons. With this pace, i don´t think so.
I also believe that Mark and Callie is the true honest interesting sexy flirty relationship on the show. I would love to see them together. Callie and Arizona bore me to death. They are fine but you said it, Sara and Eric have awesome chemistry. Sparks everywhere. The only reason i watch Grey´s now.

  • M.A.Korman says:

Who cares what happens on that show. It has become so boring and weird that I don't waste my time watching it anymore. The first few years were brilliant but unfortunately that changed.

  • Kristina says:

If your kids aren't old enough to understand the concept of gay and lesbian love should they really be watching Grey's Anatomy?
And it is disheartening that you are upset about them seeing "gays or lesbians in bed". Why is it okay for them to be exposed to sex, cuddling, bed sharing, etc with a male/female pairing and not a same sex pairing. Sex should not be an issue. They are either mature enough to handle sexual content or they are not. Love is love and it comes in all different forms. You can't shelter your children from that forever and you certainly can't expect the media not to be inclusive because you attempt to do so.

  • Kristina says:

    Agree with everything you said.
And in addition, what was with the Sara and Eric have amazing chemistry and Sara and Jessica have none?
Pretty sure we know pretty much nothing about their personal interactions and from what we've seen on-screen they both have chemistry. In fact, the reason that Callie/Arizona happened was because Shonda saw how well Sara and Jessica interacted and got along on set.
Callie/Arizona is the most supported pairing apart from Mer/Der and I am not sure, but that may be of all seasons, not just S.6
For a short article with little substance, there sure is a lot of inaccurate and misconstrued content...

  • Britney says:

one callie and arizona are awesome SO BACK OFF and a 3way you did not go there 2 real life has notting to do with the show i have seen shows where in real life the actor hated each other but on screen u never can tell, it's called acting for a reason. I liked to how you know any of the actors real lifes anyway
And ARIZONA IS GAY ALWAYS HAVE BEEN ALWAYS WILL BE SHE DON'T LIKE MEN
mark and callie had fun now it's over not getting back together
and if you don't like how Shonda Rhimes is running thing don't watch btw she not the only one that wrights the show

  • Maria says:

It's time to bring back Burke!!

  • Ingrid says:

I'm sorry, I have to disagree with you on the Callie/Arizona/Mark front. I think Sara and Jessica do have insane chemistry, and that their storyline is one of the best I've seen on Grey's for a while, not to mention very realistic and heartfelt. It always means so much to me to see a lesbian storyline that isn't there for sweeps, or that doesn't end with one of them "going back" to men and the other falling off a cliff. It takes guts to write a story that deals with it realistically, not sensationally.
I also love Callie and Mark, but as friends. I think it's great to see their kind of friendship, between a man and a woman, that is, without them having to have sex as well. It shows how much their characters have grown since when they were sex buddies. So, I love Callie and Arizona, I hope they make it through the finale together, and I love Shonda for supporting them so much. Cheers.

  • Noelle says:

Can not agree with you there. I think he's spot on on the comments about Calzona and Mallie. Callie and Arizona have no chemistry whatsoever. It's great the show took a chance on a gay relationship, which no other shows seem to have the guts to do, but that shouldn't blind people to the fact that there really is no substance behind Calzona. They have no chemistry to be heard of. They're together at this point for the sake of being together and to satisfy all the people that would shout "homophobe!" at Shonda if they ever broke up, just like every other couple on the show.

  • Tess says:

    Oh God NO!!!

  • AV says:

I'd have to agree with the majority of the comments on here, I love the relationship between Callie and Arizona. It has become one of the best parts of the show. I am thrilled that there is a shot that they will not be broken up during the finale. I think Shonda and her writers are doing a fantastic job writing a realistic storyline for them and so far I love that it has ended up with running to the parking lot of no return. I felt there wasn't the same chemistry with Callie/Hanh, but with Arizona I think they give Mer/Der a run for their money!

  • Judy says:

I'd agree with the majority of the comments here. I enjoy all the interactions among the characters and look forward to watching each week. I find it very interesting seeing the characters evolve over the years and it is like family seeing them each week.

  • vikki says:

On the comment about why is it that every show has a lesbian or gay couple. Maybe because that's how life is, and this is coming from a strickly dickly kinda girl.

  • anita says:

Calzona is fine but the chemistry between Mark and Callie is undeniable. I adore their scenes. Hope they had more. I like insane chemistry 😉 I just hope he doesn´t go back to Lexie, she is so not for him.

  • Kriszti says:

Callie and Arizona are made for each other it's not a question!!they're the best couple on the show and they're such hot and cute together!! they're for each other it's sure!!! and they are the couple who can talk to each other and dont have jsut sex

  • Lauren says:

Are you INSANE?!!!??!???!???!!! Callie and Arizona have CRAZY chemistry! More than any other couple on the show BY FAR! >.

  • Jenn says:

Are you INSANE?!!!??!???!???!!! Callie and Arizona have CRAZY chemistry! More than any other couple on the show BY FAR! >.

  • Alexandria says:

Callie and Arizona are the best. Sara is the best actress on the show who works well with everyone. if they hadn't added Jcap onto the show in the 5th season i highly doubt it would have made it to the 6th. Calzona 4ever.
