Seth Rogen Calls Entourage Creator 'Asshole,' 'Moron'

sethrogenasteroids.jpg

In one of its typically late-to-the-game, random cultural broadsides, the writers of Entourage went after Seth Rogen in last night's episode, calling his "ugliness...oddly fascinating" in a debate over whether the actor could land a Katherine Heigl-type in real life. One might assume that the affable Rogen would shrug off the insult with a friendly, Fozzie-ish chuckle, but they don't call where Rogen's at a "fighting weight" for nothing! Behold, his amazing response when asked about the incident for E!'s Daily 10:

"Yeah, those guys are assholes. I actually ran into Matt...Kevin Dillon in a Starbucks. And he's like 'you know, I've got to kind of apologize because apparently the guy who created our show doesn't like you so much.' And I said 'well I have reason to believe because I think [showrunner] Doug Ellin is a moron from all I can understand so it makes sense he doesn't like me.' And I've kind of said some disparaging things about the show. Although in our defense, [producer] Mark Wahlberg called us misogynistic in an interview, so I think they kind of started that...It's on. Luckily I never have and never plan on watching Entourage."

We would eagerly anticipate a rebuttal from Ellin, but we know how foreign the idea of creating conflict is to the writers of Entourage.

Because she has better comedic timing and is a better actress, not just good eye candy?
Why should they cast a less attractive man over a more attractive one? Hm...
Your swearing makes you sound like you're the bitter one.

  • Daddy says:

So... it's on par with all of Rogen's stuff.

  • David says:

Because the point of the movie is an unattractive, goofy stoner gets an attractive, successful woman pregnant?
Tell me this. Why are all movies where the unattractive guy gets the girl comedies? Hmm?

  • Ginger says:

WRONG. The whole premise is that a fat, tubby guy (Rogen, casted on PURPOSE), lands a woman way out of his league (Heigl, again, casted on PURPOSE). The basic Ugly guy gets Hot girl formula. You can subjectively debate whether Rogen is fat or Heigl is hot, but the fact of the matter is, they were casted specifically for their respective Fat/Hot roles.
Your observational mockery makes you look like an egotistical cretin.

  • Chris says:

Wow, both the "it's just a movie" and "you sound bitter" arguments in one post? Double fail.

  • Chris says:

David, the better question is why there are little to no movies about unattractive goofy women getting with a hot guy in comparison. And the answer is, quite obviously, institutionalized sexism.

  • Damn straight I don't! Old No. 7 would strangle me with his mustache if I did.

  • Bo Wellen says:

Hey Seth (not that you are even reading this),
You are being talked about again. Congrats! I think it is all funny. Entourage is great, and your movies are generally funny. Why piss and moan about some fake characters in some fake show talking about you. Try not to loose perspective and touch with reality. Enjoy your fame and enjoy the fact that you are now part of pop culture.

  • p-->b says:

    @Ginger... rockin. Deadly rockin. Win.

  • seth says:

    that's a pretty funny zing, although I wouldn't know.
I'm too busy enjoying Seth Rogen's movies to watch overrated tv shows

  • Natalie says:

Yep. I'll smoke a bowl with him and watch some Venture Brothers with him any day! 😀
I don't get why they are saying he's "ugly". He...and many other actors now (can't say this for actresses) are what the majority looks like. I mean seriously....how many guys in normal American towns look like Brad Pitt???

  • Mandamoo says:

Maybe I AM a bit bitter. I am bitter on behalf of my single sisters who buy into this crap and think that they have to be "pretty" to have any value.
And for that matter, women who only value men for the status they can give them are pretty sad too. Let's face it: choosing a mate primarily based on "evolutionary instinct" may not be the way to go now that we've mastered fire and infant mortality has dropped somewhat, y'think?
How about finding someone who is visually appealing to you, but also (and more importantly?) shares your values?
    Okay okay- I'm being silly.
I understand that this probably isn't the BEST forum for a sociology debate...I mean, it is just a movie board. It was just the concept of the article that bothered me. That she was "out of his league" and that was purely based on her physical attractiveness.
Meh. Sorry guys- Rant over. Go back to yer ogling.

Doug Ellin is an EGOMANIAC! He can't stomach if someone says something true about his crappy show. People are entitled to their opinion and mine is that entourage sucks! Hopefully it will be off the air soon so we can stop wasting time writing about them. Oh and pretty ballzy to have the worst looking guy on the show (turtle) making that very comment. I have a feeling the majority will take Seth over that show any day!
    TEAM SETH
    ALL THE WAY!!

  • MJ Posner says:

I thought the comment in entourage was dead on as to the Seth Rogen from Knocked Up. Forget his appearance, fat, sloppy, can't dance, one move (the dice). What he really has going for himself (not) is that he is unemployed, an illegal alien, no money, smokes pot way too much (the 60/70s called they want their bong back), lives in a trash house with a bunch of guys, and worst, his long term ambition is to create a movie nudity sex site (which makes no sense because his group would have known about Mr. Skin from years of surfing the internet for porn).
In my experience, no hot, professional woman would go for a guy like this even if he was attractive. And that was the "guy" being dissed on Entourage. Rogen looked normal in Superbad so he is not ugly and he can choose not to be fat.

  • AA says:

Entourage is a wonderful combination of boring and stupid.. I couldn't watch 5 minutes of it.
Seth Rogan's movies are ok, some hit and misses; I didn't laugh once during knocked up and pineapple express was funny until it turned in to an action movie. BUT I actually look forward to watching a movie he is in again, whereas I would wholeheartedly try to avoid anything new coming from the "writer" of entourage.

  • Paul c says:

I'd fuck Seth Rogen - and I'm straight. Seriously though, "funny" is way sexier than "sexy".

  • Unfather says:

Seems to me like every movie from the '80s to the early '90s is a movie about some "ugly" woman getting a "hot guy". John Waters?

  • Dan says:

Maybe I'm missing something, Entourage just seems like a bunch of douchebags..being douchebags. No thanks.

  • knuckles says:

How astute. Sounds like a typical judgemental, over-indulged modern citizen here; chances are this person weighs more than Rogen, yet is calling him fat. He's not really that overweight. And Heigl is not that hot. Those are facts of the matter in most people's minds, so you're an idiot. Maybe he was cast to be the 'average' guy, not necessarily the 'fat' guy. I love how some people think that they know exactly how a movie was written or they know what some famous person is thinking. You're probably one of those who gets on news forums and claims that you know exactly what's going on in Afghanistan right now cuz you just read the wikipedia article.
Your textual diarrhea makes you look like a dull-witted horse's ass.

  • Mofo says:

When I read the headline I thought Rogen was saying that simply because the show sucks. Turns out it's because they made fun of him. What a wuss.

  • Lexx says:

    Mandamoo:
Sorry, we judge with our eyes, then our ears, and after that our willingness to tolerate a woman's personality is proportional to A: how confident we are that we could easily find another woman and B: how hot you are.
Women seem to judge based on a far more expansive formula. There's our social standing, ability to provide, charm, fashion sense, and other factors. You women are just as judgmental of appearance. Almost no woman finds a shorter man attractive, for one.
The only real difference between men and women in the attraction/dating scene is that women quite possibly feel a greater need to find someone (and compromise in their selection) where as men largely do not. Women invest a lot more into a relationship anyway, considering they're always risking getting pregnant. Since male ability to attract mates isn't entirely based on physical appearance, we can hope to improve ourselves (beyond hitting the gym) where as once women get themselves fit and dolled up, that's their limit.
Neither side of the coin is very nice. With women, improving their attractiveness is a lot easier than with men. On the other hand, women are far more subject to the evolutionary hand God dealt them.

  • Chris says:

I am so sick of douchebags using Ev Psych to excuse their douchebaggery.

  • Chris says:

Exaaactly. What offends me most about these types of movies is not that the men are not conventionally attractive. It's that they are also complete losers and man-children with no morals whatsoever. And the men in the movie who act like actual adults should are called "whipped," "boring," or "pussies." An we are supposed to root for the former to get the girl (who is usually both hot and "normal" compared to the guy) while we root for the latter to "grow a pair" and act like a buffoon. It's a terrible message.

  • Stu says:

Same here... AND, I still find Angelina Jolie more attractive then Megan Fox.

  • The Atheist says:

While i agree with most of what you are say something that i find interesting is how you used evolution and God in the same sentence.
"women are far more subject to the evolutionary hand God dealt them."
    Priceless.
