Seth Rogen Calls Entourage Creator 'Asshole,' 'Moron'

sethrogenasteroids.jpg

In one of its typically late-to-the-game, random cultural broadsides, the writers of Entourage went after Seth Rogen in last night's episode, calling his "ugliness...oddly fascinating" in a debate over whether the actor could land a Katherine Heigl-type in real life. One might assume that the affable Rogen would shrug off the insult with a friendly, Fozzie-ish chuckle, but they don't call where Rogen's at a "fighting weight" for nothing! Behold, his amazing response when asked about the incident for E!'s Daily 10:

"Yeah, those guys are assholes. I actually ran into Matt...Kevin Dillon in a Starbucks. And he's like 'you know, I've got to kind of apologize because apparently the guy who created our show doesn't like you so much.' And I said 'well I have reason to believe because I think [showrunner] Doug Ellin is a moron from all I can understand so it makes sense he doesn't like me.' And I've kind of said some disparaging things about the show. Although in our defense, [producer] Mark Wahlberg called us misogynistic in an interview, so I think they kind of started that...It's on. Luckily I never have and never plan on watching Entourage."

We would eagerly anticipate a rebuttal from Ellin, but we know how foreign the idea of creating conflict is to the writers of Entourage.

    Rogen: 1, Ellin: -1

I was surprised Entourage was even going there.
Ms. Meadow Soprano should've asked that her character be excused from the discussion. She can't be burning bridges.

  • KevinScottT says:

And 'Family Guy' was just debating his comedy chops. Rough.

It wasn't the nicest thing to say on part of Entourage, but they have a point. Heigl even said that in real life the Knocked Up coupling wouldn't have happened.

  • Liz Lemonazi says:

A cute guy with a sense of humor, decently thick hair, and a penchant for reefer? Heigl should be so lucky.

  • snickers says:

    Glad someone said it.

  • JudgeFudge says:

The funny thing is, both Doug Ellin and Seth Rogen's bodies of work present each of them as sexist dude's dudes with hearts of gold, so maybe they should just bury the hatchet.
Granted, any sexism or female objectification in Rogen scripted/produced films (the period blood scene in Superbad, the Rosie Perez character in Pineapple Express, the general romantic conflict in Knocked Up) is more abstract than Entourage's general T & A fest, but the common thread is there.

And that's what we call a zing!

  • I'd fuck him. And Turtle. I guess I have a weakness for cuddly bears.

  • AK says:

yeah, but i can guarantee you dont look like katherine heigl.

  • Headache says:

He tries to every Saturday night when he dresses up like her!

  • Rockwell says:

I must be the only guy alive who finds Katherine Heigl wildly unappealing. I've never gone for the shrill, angry, castrating type.

  • anon says:

What, as the next Kirstie Alley - about to blow up into fattiness at any moment?

  • WHY AM I STILL WATCHING says:

Watching 'Entourage' in Season 6 is like eating a mildly filling but tasteless cupcake. It's not disagreeable, but you wonder why you did it in the first place.

  • OQUENDO says:

I, for one, am hopelessly attracted to the shrill, angry, castrating type...when they're gorgeous.

  • Mandamoo says:

Okay, what I want to know is could these men be happy with a cute, cuddly teddy bear of a woman with a sense of humor and a heart of gold?
Or would they drop a sweet and faithful lady for the first bombshell who flutters her lashes?
If they would, and they do...
They aren't worth any girl's time, gorgeous or not.
Why shouldn't they be pursuing the funny, smart sweet-natured girls? Why does physical beauty seem to be the chief desirable trait for women? I mean, I thought we were in the 21st century, aren't we?
    *sigh*
Its just sad that we seem to gauge men more by their personality, intelligence and humor, and for women its simply about sexy they are.

  • Snake Nuts says:

I enjoy Rogen's comedies, but he just needs to treat these clowns like the irrelevant slobs that they are, ignore them. When someone asks him 'what do you think about entourage', he just needs to say 'what the hell is that?'. Pretend like those ass clowns don't even exist.
Entourage, isn't that a little gay anyway? A bunch of grown men being 'Best Friends for Life', what do they do, sit around and blow each other? Fags.

  • Mike B. says:

Actually, Seth Rogen did his own voice on Family Guy, so he was definitely in on that joke. That shows he doesn't mind poking fun at himself, which makes this apparent "beef" between Ellin and him seem all the more real.

  • David says:

It's a fucking movie. Why would they cast an ugly girl over a pretty one? You sound a little bitter

  • b. stizzle says:

how about we just leave it at their work, and the Entourage crew are just not as smart?

  • sureItsMyRealName says:

You're right. It IS sad. I had a girl-friend once say, "If you're going to fall in love, you may as well fall in love with a rich guy," which I believe was a reference to a cliche (that I'd never heard before). I, of modest means, was a little offended.
I guess my point is that I wouldn't go around talking up the "more enlightened female" angle, if I were you. There are plenty of guys that, once past the breasts, prefer women of solid character. 😉

  • Johnny says:

@Mandamoo Cause that's just evolutionary biology. Men want a hot, fit chick and women want a powerful, high status guy.

    Great line!
Entourage is terribly written, and consequently boring. No character development, similar "plot" themes rehashed over and over again, etc.
A shame, because such a premise holds a lot of promise.
Anyway, great zing. The show's writers suck.
