He's played cops, a count, Houdini, a time traveler, a king, and even a drag queen, but in this week's Lockout, Guy Pearce treads new ground as an all-out action hero -- not that he necessarily sees things that way. "People used to say that about L.A. Confidential," he recalled to Movieline recently in Los Angeles. "They’d go, ‘Wow, so you’re an action hero!’ I’d be like, action hero? It’s a ‘50s film noir!" Even still, after 20+ years of acting, most recently in a string of acclaimed supporting turns (see: The King's Speech, The Hurt Locker, Animal Kingdom, Mildred Pierce), it's only now that Pearce is laying claim to the title, guns blazing.

Before she became Buffy and became a household name, Sarah Michelle Gellar got her big break playing the scheming Kendall Hart on ABC's long-running soap All My Children. And now that the daytime fave is going off the air, Gellar plans to make one last trip to Pine Valley, joining fellow AMC vet Josh Duhamel in returning to the show that started her career. Gellar's one-day cameo role is still TBA, since there's only room in town for one Kendall (played subsequently by Alicia Minshew)... or is there? [Deadline]
Speaking on a panel at Dallas Comic-Con over the weekend, Stan Lee was asked about the famous cameos he's come to be known for in adaptations of his work. Downplaying the fact that Matthew Vaughn never called him to cameo in X-Men: First Class, Lee told fans to look forward to his turn in another blockbuster this summer: "Wait 'til you see me in Captain America!" And then, he proceeded to spoil his cameo in Marc Webb's just-wrapped The Amazing Spider-Man.
