That's as specific an internal endorsement as Warners is ready to give its this fall's animated epic Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, whose new trailer declines to mention director Zack Snyder ("From the director of Dawn of the Dead, 300 and Watchmen" just didn't have the same family-friendly ring) and a voice cast including Helen Mirren, Geoffrey Rush, Abbie Cornish, Jim Sturgess and Hugo Weaving. This one will live and die by its animation, thank you very much. Lucky them: The strategy worked.

The summer of Mad Men rolls on! In the latest video from Funny or Die, Alison Brie, her Mad Men co-star Rich Sommer and Mrs. Landingham from West Wing -- OK, fine, Kathryn Joosten -- help bring to life a world where the U.S. Patents Office copyrights 57 sex acts per year. Naturally Brie -- the self-described "Queen of Copulation" -- plays a young lady who has perfected a vast array of them with her husband while still finding time to come up with some of her own. Like "The Military-Style Execution" and "Bad Dog," two sex acts which are way more disgusting than you're even imagining right now. The Somewhere trailer is out and I'm short on time (plus it's not embeddable), so let's make this brief: is this the ultimate Sofia Coppola movie or what? There's a dreamy blond waif straight out of The Virgin Suicides, a past-his-prime actor living out his ennui in a hotel just like in Lost in Translation (and a wacky cultural side trip to Italy that may provide more region-specific humor in the vein of "Lip my stocking"), and the deliciously composed shots and decadence of Marie Antoinette. Judging from the reviews, the marketing campaign and the interview stylings of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, your hopes for the quality of The A-Team were probably nestled somewhere between Con Air and stab your eyeballs out. But if the four, hilariously non-consecutive minutes of the film that were "leaked" online prove anything, it's that The A-Team looks like the action mess of the summer. Congrats, Joe Carnahan! Here's your Big Bang Theory trivia of the day: Long before Kaley Cuoco joined the CBS sitcom as Leonard and Sheldon's ditzy neighbor Penny, Chuck Lorre shot a pilot with unknown Canadian actress/VJ Amanda Walsh as his female lead. Walsh and her character -- a street smart gal with a sensitive core -- were both scrapped by Lorre after CBS rejected the pilot. Now, thanks to the wonder of the internet, that original episode (that even Lorre said "sucked") is available for your viewing pleasure.
