Fox is said to be interested in developing a feature film based on the History Channel reality hit Ice Road Truckers -- or at least that's what director John Moore intimated on Monday. "We'll turn it into a mission movie that harkens back to Towering Inferno, Jaws, or The Guns of Navarone," Moore told Deadline. "You got a problem, go solve it." The online television site has unveiled Hulu Plus, a $9.99 monthly service that would allow subscribers to watch full seasons of their favorite Fox, ABC and NBC shows on the site without being limited to the last five episodes. Hulu Plus will also open up the archives -- great news for fans of The Pretender -- and be available on both the iPad and iPhone. Though since current users will still be able to use Hulu almost exactly as they do now -- that being, for free -- why the change in business model?
Add Elijah Wood to the list of film actors who are crossing over to television this year. The Lord of the Rings alum will star in FX's adaptation of the Australian series Wilfred. Jason Gann, who co-created and starred in the original project, will reprise his role as the title character for the U.S. iteration. The pilot script, from David Zuckerman (Family Guy, American Dad) centers on a guy (Wood) and a mixed-breed dog Wilfred (Gann) "who is part Labrador retriever and part Russell Crowe on a bender." This marks Wood's first starring role in a television series. [EW]

Well now, writer Larry Doyle wants in on that path paved by Dan Harmon (who called his Monster House director a "hack" and Steven Spielberg a "moron") and J.D. Shapiro (who blamed Battlefield Earth on his nutty Scientologist producers). You may already know Doyle as a former staffer for The Simpsons or as the writer of I Love You, Beth Cooper, but now you'll know him as the guy who tore Danny DeVito a new one.
It looks like Sheldon Turner might have gotten his Oscar season frustrations out with the help of Final Draft. The Up in the Air co-writer has his directorial debut lined up: By Virtue Fall, a drama that "charts a professional and personal relationship between two characters that evolves from friendship to betrayal and retribution."
