At the tail end of the Tron Legacy panel here at Comic Con, moderator Patton Oswalt asked the crowd, what Disney movie would you most want to see re-made? And who would you like to see make it? Haunted Mansion and Guillermo del Toro were the surprise answers to both.
· Despite visual evidence to the contrary, Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan isn't a prequel to The Phantom Menace. It is, however, a psychological thriller co-starring Natalie Portman and her doppleganger Mila Kunis (is this a plot point?) that will be premiering at the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 1. I just got out of the press conference for Tron Legacy, and there is definitely one thing these people don't want to talk about: that recent report that the Pixar braintrust helped contribute to rewrites on the movie. (A Disney rep actually plucked the microphone from my hand after asking me the subject of my question, murmuring, "Sorry, we'd like to avoid that.") One thing they will talk about? That highly anticipated Daft Punk soundtrack.
