"I know there are sort of erroneous reports that we're going back in January -- not true, as far as I know," he told MTV News at Comic-Con. Also, is J.J. so totally going to throw Trek over to direct Wicked, or am I reading too much into this apropos-of-nothing Quinto quote: "I would obviously love to see J.J. be directing every Star Trek movie that I'm ever affiliated with, but if it's not the case I'm sure that whoever does will be someone that he has chosen and that he believes in for whatever reason." As it is with many superhero movies these days, the race to cast the title role in Green Lantern was a very public one. Though Ryan Reynolds eventually won the part, Bradley Cooper, Justin Timberlake, and Jared Leto were among the finalists whose names found their way to the press. Today at a press conference at Comic-Con, Reynolds shared the tidbit that he thinks clinched it for him over his competition.
With Comic-Con going strong, what better time for NBC to announce a major casting coup on one of their highly anticipated fall shows? Err. Alfred Molina has joined the cast of Law & Order: Los Angeles as the order -- a Los Angeles deputy DA. He joins the already cast Skeet Ulrich on the Dick Wolf-produced series. [EW]
