Insult, meet injury: According to the final numbers released on Monday afternoon, Hanna defeated Arthur at the box office this weekend by roughly $200,000. Focus Features reports that the Joe Wright-directed film overperformed on Sunday -- resulting in the flip-flop -- news that will likely do nothing to ease the hangover Warner Bros. is feeling right now. Here's a lesson for all future actresses considering penning explosive memoirs about their childhood sexual abuse and philanthropic work: If you blame rap and hip-hop artists for creating the "the contemporary soundtrack of misogyny," you will be called out en masse by rap and hip-hop fans. Take Ashley Judd, whose two paragraph tangent in All That Is Bitter & Sweet about how Snoop Dogg and P. Diddy have fostered a "rape culture" left fans furious. To mend her ever-important relationship with the hip-hop community, Judd posted a 1,200 word apology on Russell Simmons's website on Monday in which she took the high road... and blamed her editors.

On Sunday night, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Awards held in Los Angeles honored the best in pro-gay cinema, television, and journalism. Glee and Modern Family tied for the top comedy honors (while True Blood took home the drama trophy at an earlier New York ceremony), but the undisputed film champ was I Love You, Phillip Morris, which won for Outstanding Film -- Limited Release. Finally, some good karma for the troubled Men in Black 3. In preparation for a May 2 shoot in New York, the production has leased the oldest building on Coney Island to the delight of nostalgic local residents. The Grashorn -- which was built in the 1880s and has been empty for years -- will likely be made to look like it did in 1969, since the plot of Men in Black 3 deals with time travel. Of course.
