So you might have heard about a certain couple getting married tomorrow in London. And while we all wish only the best to Prince William and Kate Middleton, let's face it: Few things right now are more egregiously overblown than the world event this royal wedding has become. How to best observe the occasion while counteracting the hype? Let us count the ways -- moviewise, anyway:

With summer movie season nigh, Movieline turned to the critics to see which blockbusters and potential sleepers are at the top of the experts' most anticipated lists. From star-powered vehicles to long-awaited sequels, space superheroes to Spielbergian sci-fi, our pundits' picks ran the gamut, but one film emerged the clear front-runner. Is it the same event movie you can't wait to see?

Perhaps as part of their pre-release push for Breaking Dawn -- the first part of which hits theaters in November -- Summit Entertainment will want to invest in some D-Box seats. At least for the much-discussed and debated placenta-chewing birth scene, which -- according to star Kristen Stewart -- "hits you in the face." Should fans bring a towel to their local multiplex, too?

Brandon Routh and Sam Huntington scored their breakthrough roles in Warner Bros.' 2006 blockbuster Superman Returns playing Clark Kent/The Man of Steel and his trusty BFF Jimmy Olsen, respectively. But while the film grossed $391 million worldwide, a sequel never materialized. This week, the off-screen friends reunite in the indie comic book noir Dylan Dog: Dead of Night, about a hard-boiled investigator of the supernatural (Routh) on a case with his trusty BFF (Huntington) by his side. Given their easy hero-sidekick rapport in the film, it's hard not to think of the specter of Superman.

Perhaps the weekend of Aug. 12 will be the seventh most competitive at the box office this summer. New Line/Warner Bros. has moved Final Destination 5 from its original Aug. 26 date to that weekend, where it will go up against The Help and 30 Minutes or Less. Taking the vacated Final Destination slot will be Apollo 18, which The Weinstein Company has moved for a second time this year. Mark your Google Calendars accordingly. [Coming Soon]

Deadline reports that pop phenom Justin Bieber, who showed off his acting chops on the small screen on CSI, may make his feature debut in a basketball drama to co-star and be produced by Mark Wahlberg. And how did the idea come about in the first place? Well, never say never nothing ever came from the tried and true legacy of Rock 'n' Jock-style celebrity sporting events.

He's 6'5", 220 pounds, and there's... one of him! According to Deadline, The Social Network's Armie Hammer has been tapped for Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger, in which he'll play the titular Old West masked crusader opposite Johnny Depp as Tonto. After the film's long and winding road to development, Hammer marks the last major piece of the HR puzzle although Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have yet to find the requisite love interest and villain. Any ideas as to who'd make a good foil to both Hammer's stoic All-American boyishness and Depp's worldly swagger? [Deadline]
Now, if you're Ryan Reynolds (which you are, in dreams), you're enough of a nerd to know that comparing your new, candy-colored superhero movie to Star Wars is an incendiary idea. I imagine Mr. Reynolds is aware of the wrath he may inspire with his new quote in the L.A. Times, but nonetheless, he did say The Green Lantern may follow directly in Star Wars's legacy. Is he correct? Quote after the jump.

Two black critics go long -- like really long -- about one of America's most visionary and problematic filmmakers: "I think I finally get why Madea is so important to Perry, and why she might be harder to give up than Whitney's crack: Tyler Perry is the victimized character in his films, and Madea is his personal superhero. She is what the therapist I go to for my own childhood traumas refers to as 'a protector identity.' In portraying this protector, Perry is saving himself." File under must-read. Before we get into Alex Pettyfer's vulgarity-laden new interview with VMan magazine, let's remember a couple of things: These quotes might be taken out of context. When the I Am Number Four says he wants to "run all the c*nts" out of L.A., he probably doesn't mean to be gender-specific. When he calls L.A. a "sh*thole," he's probably just... being correct. And when he talks about the tattoo over his crotch that says "Thank You," he probably... well, I'm not sure about that one. Anyway, he was nice to us!

The television bona fides of the Farrelly Brothers version of The Three Stooges keeps getting stronger. Deadline reports that Jane Lynch has been cast as Mother Superior, alongside Sean Hayes (Will & Grace), Chris Diamantopoulos (24) and Will Sasso (MadTV). You'll recall that Cher was reportedly the Farrellys' first choice back in February. [Deadline]
The 'is it opening or isn't it' question over the confusing release details of Terrence Malick's Tree of Life appears to be definitively solved -- at least for the time being: Icon Film Distribution says it's officially not releasing the film on May 4 in the U.K. as reported. The curious legal battle over rights to the film has been detailed here, but in short, Tree of Life will debut at Cannes as planned. [Guardian]
