It's hard to believe that G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation has become a legitimate summer tentpole from the time of its announcement to its first day of shooting, but that's sorta what happened. Lots of that has to do with J.J. Abrams's inability to get the ball rolling on Star Trek 2 in time for Paramount's planned June 29, 2012 release date -- resulting in Joe landing there -- but with a cast featuring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Channing Tatum, Adrianne Palicki and possibly Bruce Willis, it has become hard to ignore G.I. Joe 2's potential for box office breakout next summer. Step one on that road is filming, which direct Jon M. Chu has commenced, and Johnson has commemorated on Twitter. Click through for a look.

There have been so many unofficial images of Leonardo DiCaprio in J. Edgar floating around the Internet that you'd think it he was starring in The Dark Knight Rises. Edgar Hoover has shown up online, and... well, it looks a lot like all the spy pics. Click through for a new (old) look.

If you've seen Niels Arden Oplev's 2009 Swedish adaptation of Stieg Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, you already have faces attached to the cast of characters in the bestselling trilogy-starter. So Sony's smart to roll out 18 character profiles introducing you to the new Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara, managing to look simultaneously different and similar to Noomi Rapace), Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig in scruffy journalist-wear) and their fellow players in David Fincher's December English-language remake.

In late July, we previewed a slew of images from films that will be screening at this year's Toronto International Film Festival. Among the titles that looked most promising was Friends With Kids, Jennifer Westfeldt's indie drama which stars her real-life boyfriend Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Adam Scott and Westfeldt herself as a group of best friends in their 30's whose dynamic changes after two of them decide to have a baby...and then date other people. Like Megan Fox's character, who is featured in her first Friends artwork after the jump.

The memory of Roberto Benigni's 1999 Best Actor Oscar win for Life is Beautiful is still a pleasurable, if slightly unsettling jolt to my synapses. Chair jumping! Hollering! Grand gesturing! That unmistakable air of horniness! More than ten years later, Benigni is exhuming that fervor on the set of Woody Allen's Bop Decameron, where he costars alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Alec Baldwin, and Greta Gerwig. Here are his best five moments of paparazzi-captured craycray.

Perhaps due to some interoffice jealousy over the fact that Zack Snyder got to release a picture of Henry Cavill as Superman this week -- or perhaps owing to a well-scheduled Google Calendar of marketing teases -- the Dark Knight Rises team over at Warner Bros. has offered up a first look of Anne Hathaway in the Christopher Nolan mega-film. Exciting! How does Hathaway's Selina Kyle compare to Michelle Pfeiffer's iconic incarnation of the mischievous Catwoman in Batman Returns?

Madonna's directorial feature W.E. seems like a statelier version of Julie and Julia: A woman name Wally Winthrop (Abbie Cornish) living in 1998 New York is enamored by the decades-old romance of Wallis Simpson (Andrea Riseborough) and Prince Edward (James D'Arcy). New stills from the film -- which will premiere at the Venice Film Festival before heading to Toronto -- owe less to, say, The King's Speech and more to movies in Madonna's own oeuvre.
