Hayley Atwell Set For The 10 Things I Hate About You Sequel You Didn't Ask For
Honestly, the part where 10 Things I Hate About You helmer Gil Junger admits he's made more in residuals from the flick than he was paid to direct it kind of explains it all, but: Junger tells Variety he's directing a sequel to his 1999 Heath Ledger-Julia Stiles teen comedy Shakespeare riff, with Captain America's Hayley Atwell starring, "which advances the situations from the original film." Oh, also? It's about suicide. "Two people who go to the same place at the same time to end it. … Their chance meeting is so awkward, so raw, and so funny, they postpone their intentions and go their separate ways." [Variety]

am i the only one who finds this somewhat offensive of a plotline?!?!?!
Not at all. It sounds terrible!
I am sure I have seen a film that starts like this but I can't remember what the name of it was.
Both 'Girl on a Bridge' and 'Dream With the Fishes' start with only one suicidal person.
Can anyone help me out or am I imagining it?
I have to admit though that I really like 10 Things. Aside from Stiles and Ledger it has a pretty amazing cast too with Joseph Gordon Levitt and David Krumholtz. But I'm a sucker for any high school movie.
I really enjoyed the original, don't get me wrong. But a sequel, without the original cast? Sounds kind of ridiculous! And for it to be about suicide!?!?!? What IN THE WORLD?
Oh I agree. Were it not for the name I doubt any of us would be able to draw a line between the two.
There is a recent Bollywood film called 'Anjaana, Anjaani' that starts with two people on a bridge about to commit suicide, and then turns into a rom-com...this sound very similar. (The Indian film is very good and entertaining btw).
Please don't call it "10 Things I Hate About You". Don't ruin that movie's namesake with a sequel...
I hate this false-identity eurotrash. The Americans really, really don't like this lying beyotch who is probably another government brit eurasian actor, so I'll pass on anything this twit says and does.
I personally value the effort you put into your conclusions and hope to see more of your opinions again soon.
