Eugene Levy Really Not a Fan of American Office
"He's full of praise for Ricky Gervais, but he's never seen the American version of The Office. 'I can't, there's no point. Ricky's truly was done like a documentary. In the States they can't go there. They've got to light it brighter, and the camera can't move in quite the same way because the audience won't stand for that. [...] It's a horrible way of using the device. They're using a device that they don't truly understand. And I'm not a fan of kind of doing something. Do it or don't do it. If you're going to do a fake documentary, make it a fake documentary. Have the balls to just do it that way.'" [The Guardian]

What a moronic argument. In many different components! IF he had actually seen it, he could say, "I didn't like the way they handled the documentary mode." but since he HASN'T, this argument is lame. Furthermore, I didn't realize the original Office (which was very good) was about the documentary aspect. Last time I watched it, it seemed to be about the COMEDY. Foolish me! Idiot.
So he's one of those haters who doesn't like something but hasn't actually seen it?
Actually he is right. I've hated our American version . . . it blows compared to the Brit version.
Enjoyed studying this, very good stuff, appreciate it
