· The handsome Matt Bomer is just the latest handsome Hollywood leading man that Steven Soderbergh has cast in his stripper drama Magic Mike. The White Collar star (who once screen tested to play Superman for Brett Ratner) joins Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and newly added Matthew McConaughey in the film, which Soderbergh has compared to Saturday Night Fever. Bomer will next be seen looking handsome in In Time with Justin Timberlake. [Deadline]

· Jennifer Lawrence isn't just acting in The Hunger Games, she's singing too. At least that's the report from Games composer T Bone Burnett, who says that Lawrence will sing "Rue's Lullaby" in the Gary Ross-directed film. Fans will recall Rue (played in the film by Amandla Stenberg) as the female tribute from District 11 who forms an alliance with Katniss. [MTV]

· It looks like the planned sequel for The Smurfs will have no trouble hitting its Aug. 2, 2013 release date. That's because Sony already has a draft of the script in hand from writers David Stem and David Weiss, who have been working on the second film since the spring. [THR]

· Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan will produce a film about Hunter Scott, an 11-year-old boy who -- inspired by Jaws and a school competition -- wound up clearing the name of court-martialed USS Indianapolis captain Charles McVay some twenty years after McVay took his own life. · Famed character actor Stephen Root has joined Robert Redford, Shia LaBeouf, Brit Marling, Susan Sarandon, Nick Nolte and Julie Christie in the cast of The Company You Keep. [Variety]

· SyFy has cast tough-guy actors Danny Trejo and M.C. Gainey in its original movie Haunted High, about a private school visited by its dead headmaster. So, kinda like Harry Potter crossed with Monster Squad? Whenever this eventually airs, it's an auto-add to the DVR. [THR/Heat Vision]
