Terrence Malick Will Collapse the Universe in Voyage of Time Documentary

With the Palme d'Or-winning The Tree of Life headed to theaters in limited release on Friday (420 showings, 4eva!), what better time to learn even more about Voyage of Time, the documentary component of Life that director Terrence Malick has been working on for years. That one is still on track to get released eventually, and when it does the narrator will sound awfully familiar.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Life star Brad Pitt will narrate the proceedings, which allegedly highlight "the whole of time, from the birth of the universe to its final collapse." (Oh, is that all?) Malick is reportedly working with a team of "more than 20 advisors" on Voyage of Time to "ensure the film is both aesthetically unique and scientifically accurate."

"It was important not to cannibalize Tree of Life," producer Bill Pohlad told the Times about why the documentary was initially delayed. "[W]e want to do it. He just has to find the time to do it."

To that end, Malick is currently working on an untitled romance with Ben Affleck and Rachel McAdams. Lest you think the famously reclusive director is going soft, though, that new film is apparently even more experimental than The Tree of Life. So, more dinosaurs?
