Subtle Expendables 2 Sales Poster All About the Head Wound
As hella violent movie marketing art goes, the ad selling The Expendables 2 to foreign buyers at the Cannes market isn't quite in league with the splattery new Conan poster. But conceptually anyway, a skull with a "2" exploding out of it is pushing the next level of... something.
Millennium and Lionsgate have a follow-up to Sylvester Stallone's all-star mercenary block party in the works for 2012; the original grossed $274 million worldwide, and one can only imagine the fevered bidding that will ensue for the sequel. Especially with this kind of art -- an updating of the first film's skull-and-knives motif -- leading the way. Subtle!
