· Chris Sambuchino, the author of How to Survive a Garden Gnome Attack (which is being made into a feature film by Robert Zemeckis) tells MTV just why a feature based on his book will work. "The book itself is a parody of a survival guide. I expect the movie will be the tale of a couple (or perhaps even a small town) that comes under the wrath of vicious lawn gnomes. They will have to discern gnomes' weakness(es) -- then fight back! I think it will make a good movie because it can combine horror elements with plenty of comedy." Terrifying. [MTV]

· The latest book from Goosebumps author R.L. Stine has been optioned for feature adaptation by Gotham Group. This one is called It's the First Day of School ... Forever, which sounds even more terrifying than those garden gnomes. [Moviefone]
