· There probably won't be a beard involved, but this will do. Steve Carell has apparently found his first post-Office project: Seeking A Friend For The End of The World, a romantic comedy set against the apocalypse that will possibly co-star Keira Knightley. The film -- from writer and first-time director Lorene Scafaria -- would follow a recently single man (Carell) and his neighbor (Knightley, in talks) on a road trip to find the man's high school sweetheart, who has reached out before the end of days. Needless to say, some romantic entanglements ensue. Scafaria also wrote Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, meaning you should probably get excited. [Deadline]

· Good news and bad news on the Iron Man 3 front. Bad news first: Despite hiring him to direct the further adventures of Tony Stark, Marvel won't have Shane Black write the script to the threequel; instead that job goes to Drew Pearce. The good news? Pearce wrote the script for the Marvel property Runaways (still in development) and will work closely with Black on Iron Man 3. [Deadline]

· Speaking of screenwriters: Will Beall -- the former Los Angeles police officer who wrote Gangster Squad for Warner Bros. -- has been selected to pen Logan's Run for the studio. The remake will star Ryan Gosling (also in talks for Gangster Squad) and come from director Nicolas Winding Refn. [THR/Heat Vision]

· This sounds logical: Leonard Nimoy will voice Sentinal Prime in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. [EW]

· A big week for Pixar closes out with a big announcement: Dan Scanlon will direct the Monsters, Inc. prequel Monsters University. Scanlon's previous credits include the Cars-related short Mater and the Ghostlight. [Coming Soon]

· Adam Shankman has found his Rock of Ages lead: Diego González Boneta, who you may know from appearances on 90210 and Pretty Little Liars. He's no Constantine Maroulis, but he'll do. [Vulture]

· Don't get restless, Mia Wasikowska fans! Gus Van Sant's Restless will get released by Sony Pictures Classics. Expect it to hit theaters in the fall. [LAT/24 Frames]
