Could Leaked Sex Photos Suddenly Make Breaking Dawn More Appealing to Non-Twilight Fans?

breakingdawn300.jpgBelieve it or not, there is still a subset of moviegoers who have no interest in seeing anything Twilight-related. These audience members stayed strong in spite of societal pressure to see sequels New Moon and Eclipse, suffocating media coverage of its stars' real-life romance and even the intriguing revelation that Pattinson will deliver a baby with his own teeth in a future installment. But can the strongest Twilight hater resist Bill Condon's Breaking Dawn after seeing the sexy leaked photos of Bella and Edward consummating their illicit relationship, one thrust at a time?

Sorry to be graphic here but that is actually what is happening in a batch of stills leaked today, which Movieline had the pleasure of poring over (for journalistic research, naturally), before Summit yanked them from websites. In one, Edward gazes deeply into Bella's eyes as they "make love" (or whatever the kids are calling it these days) in buttery lighting. But the still does not look like something you'd expect from a franchise that has been called "abstinence porn." Headboards are gripped, legs are pulled back, expert (or at least advanced beginner) sex is definitely being had.

In another leaked still, Bella and Edward lounge post-coitus with Bella's wedding ring in plain view. In spite of these images, Breaking Dawn is still expected to be rated PG-13 -- even though Robert Pattinson considers it more deserving of an "R" rating. (Movieline has confirmed the legitimacy of the leaked photos with Summit Entertainment, who also noted that Breaking Dawn is still being filmed.)

[UPDATE: The leak included a whopping amount of images from the infamous Breaking Dawn honeymoon scene, including the two stills described above. Also leaked: pics of Bella straddling Edward, Bella and Edward in various states of undress, the ravaged honeymoon suite on the morning after, and shots from the equally infamous bloody childbirth scene. Images posted on various websites and blogs have since been taken down in response to studio request.]

So what say you, Twilight-wary readers? Does the promise of actual sexy sex in the teen-oriented franchise pique your interest with the promise of what director Bill Condon might deliver?

movies are meant to be enjoyed, I enjoyed the twilight saga will definitely see this one

    No.

  • Stupid Commenter says:

But you see, the person was simply responding to the post, as requested in the post itself. There is really no need to be nasty.

  • Jane says:

To the twihaters that diss the Twilight Saga but still go see the movies, tell me how these movies have made 1.8 billion dollars to date and the two Breaking Dawn movies are projected to make 1.3 billion. Are all of these ticket buyers "uneducated people who don't know any better?" I beg to differ, I am a college graduate and I think this series of movies is the best thing to come along in decades. Go use your opinions somewhere else for people who care to listen.

No, see, here's where reading comprehension gets to take place.
See, the title of the article on this website is "Could Leaked Sex Photos Suddenly Make Breaking Dawn More Appealing to non-Twilight Fans?". I, being a non-Twilight fan, answered that question, and my answer was "No, it will not make this non-Twilight fan want to see the movie. In fact, this list of things I love in movies - zombies, raptors, Chow Yun Fat, et al.- were they to appear in the new Twilight films, it would still not be enough to get me to watch the movies".
Yes, I answered in a snarky manner, but that's what I do on this website, where I read and comment on all the articles, not just the ones that are about Twilight.
As I've mentioned previously, I have nothing against Twi-hards, save for the fact that they instantly jump to the conclusion that because I express my desire to not watch these movies, that means I'm insulting them and their tastes and they need to vehemently defend their position with a knee-jerk "Ur n idiot, LOLZ".
If Hollywood is going to keep mass producing spandex-clad superhero movies for fanboys, I admire that there is another set of films with just as rabid a fanbase. And more power to you. Just calm down when I express my opinion that I'd rather watch Rules of the Game or Battle For Algiers over another Twilight movie.

I am a huge twilight fan and I have no friends who like it but it's okay just because we like it doesn't mean everyone else has to like For example /TheWinchester he/she is entitled to their opinion these books are not meant for teens and I hate that it's pg13 I am 23 years old married and have a son. I am so fingerling over this movie I am a huge Robert and Kristen fan I love fanfiction but I will not bash other people for not liking it now if he was on twilight website or Facebook then I'd be like c'mon get a life but I respect people opinions.

  • didi says:

You are right, you answered the question mentioned in the title and you replied respectfully so that's okay. But I hope you try to understand the reactions of some rabid Twifans.
For many years there wereonly male orientated movie franchises, very popular and very good in the eyes of the fans. Many women didn't like them but had to 'endure' them for peaces sake lol. Did they had quality and good acting? Some of them yes, many were in fact terrible.
Now, for the first time, there's a female orientated franchise and you can't believe the backlash and hatred it gets from meanly the fanboys. That isn't fair. As many others state: read what you like and comment on it, skip what you don't like and what you're not interested in. That's the way how internet can be pleasant for everybody instead of the insulting behavior of frustrated pc nerds.
Because of them, people as you, commenting in a descent way, risk to become the victim of defensive fans lol.
Please forgive my mistakes as English isn't my native language.

  • James says:

I doubt they will have a positive impact; in fact, I suspect they will have a negative one. The reason the films are pg-13 is because pg-13 films can get waaaay more people to see them than R rated films do. But these photos suggest, as Rob Pattinson already suggested, they will be pushing the PG-13 window, which will drive many viewers away.
More importantly, perhaps, is that the screen grabs and video are such poor quality that they basically look like the next two years of Twilight movies will look... really crappy.

  • Candace says:

Ridiculous. The book was wack, and movie is obviously going to be the same level of insanity. Besides the flick is rated PG-13. No doubt in my mind the stills leaked were stolen from the cutting room floor.

  • beatriz says:

i cannot wait to see breaking dawn. I wish it dwould show alot of sex because the book is very graphic

  • beatriz says:

u twilight haters suck. so if u dont like the movie dont post your opinion assholes

  • ivana says:

I only imagine how Rob is going to be embarrassed about this, although there is not a single reason for it! 😉

  • Laura says:

omg!!!!! ive always wondered what they were going to do abt tht scene!

  • Wow says:

Wow, no wonder you twifans actually think this stuff is worth defending and think its good, you lack any semblance of reading comprehension. The article is 'Could Leaked Sex Photos Suddenly Make Breaking Dawn More Appealing to Non-Twilight Fans?' not 'Could Leaked Sex Photos Suddenly Make Breaking Dawn more Appealing to Twilight fans who actually believe the sex isn't simulated'. I find it highly amusing that people are getting defensive about their intellect and marital status aswell. If martial status was indicative of intelligence or validity of an opinion, Britney Spears would be on the UN security council.

  • Candace says:

In case you hadn't noticed opinions were asked for. All of them. Not just ones that would please Twihards. Grow up.

  • Jessica says:

WTF I You don't The movie then don't fucking comment on here shit I'm reall tired of people who don't like whe a person comments on something they don't like if you don't like the damn thing don't fucking look at it SHIT

  • Nina001 says:

    Yes)

  • TurdBlossom says:

These posts remind me of the Taliban (less the reason and willingness to let others have their own opinions).

  • Denise says:

i think so. my husband isnt all that interested in the books or movies(unlike me) but he will endure them for me, a sex scene could make him more interested in the movie. so i suppose the same could be said for other guys.....non-twilight GIRL fans however is a whole other story lol

  • Hollyfeld says:

    Typical.
Someone makes a comment that isn't a a breathless, hyperbole laden ode to how awesome "Twilight" is and the twilight fans get all butthurt.
That's the beauty of an open, free society - everyone is entitled to their opinion, regardless of how much you may disagree with it.
Some people don't like these movies (and/or books).
    And that's okay, too.

  • J. W. A says:

I am a 38 year old male and when my 33 year old wife borrowed the books and told me she loved it, at first I scoffed, but I agreed to read the first one and I gotta say that I was extremely impressed with the writing and quickly read the other three. Although I thought the first movie was a little weird, I really enjoyed New Moon and Eclipse, I admit that the acting isn't always the best, but the effects are incredible and I am more looking forward to seeing the birth scene than the sex itself. Don't get me wrong I wanna see how those scenes are handled too but the birth of the baby if it's as gory as the book will be interesting

  • Mo says:

I saw the pics/video on Friday and I have to admit, it does make me anticipate the movie even more than I did before. But as Stephenie Meyer said, they have not been edited yet, so they were more like a teaser for the upcoming movies.
