Wonder Woman Get-Up Now Slightly Less Sexy Halloween Costume

Earlier this month, Warner Bros. released the first photo of Adrianne Palicki in NBC's Wonder Woman reboot, and her get-up looked a lot like a sexy Halloween costume you could buy at Ricky's NYC. Fans weren't too pleased, however, and the network has since given Adrianne Palicki a more modest costume. Sorta. Take a look at Wonder Woman's new gear after the jump.

Note the roomier and latex-free pants. And red boots! Now that is a costume that you could really fight crime in. You could probably still trick or treat in it, too.

I agree... I think they both look horrible. Her look does not say WW to me:/

  • Are they serious?! says:

Just from an aesthetics standpoint, pairing the shiny boots and bustier with the knit pants looks awful. It looks like they went out and bought half a Wonder Woman costume and just brought something from home for the rest. Make a decision please. If you want shiny Wonder Woman, then commit to SHINY. If you prefer workout Wonder Woman, pair those leggings with a red, white and blue sports bra and running shoes.
From a "fighting crime" standpoint, it's off too - keeping the girls in line in a bustier is tricky enough without adding running and "fighting". Even Xena's metal and leather outfit had straps and the Dark Angel lead wore combat boots and skin tight black leather - both were sexy, neither looked ridiculous or mismatched and both ran around bashing evil doers all the time.
The only good thing I can really say about it is, way to go avoiding the camel toe in stretch pants!

  • Amy says:

The tiara only seems to point to Adrienne's trademark mole between her eyes. IS THAT WHY IT POINTS DOWNWARD? Should be pointed up with pride like in the original series! Megan Fox would have been a better choice for the role. No offense meant to Adrienne.

and the following would be a better up to date costume

Tiara still needs to be pointed up even on the last photo.

  • Ariel says:

    It's camel toe you fool!

  • Norma says:

It figures... i.e. erik, is typically a MCP!!! Is that the only reason you are interested
in WW's character? If so, you really need to grow up? WW was a really smart, sexy, classy character, and I hope Adrienne can play her as well as Linda did. I, too, am not happy with how the artists have drawn her costume, but let's stick with her costume alone, and leave the sexist comments out of things, please! I think they need to put her back in as close to the original costume as possible, down to the last little detail. And yes, this comes from a woman who grew up in the 70's, watching Wonder Woman, and wishing I could be like her!!!

  • Bianca says:

Personnaly, on the second version, she look like a cowgirl who go to a rodeo, that's all!

  • Kim says:

I PREFFER the CLASSIC LOOK. the new outfit look's like "momma gonna drop by the grocery store in her new costume!" Not a good look!!

  • Arnie Swatzenigger says:

    So many perverts !

  • Gary says:

This outfit needs to be completely different with bringing Wonder Woman into a current time movie. The original outfit for the "cartoon!" TV series shouldn't even be considered. I for one would like to see a fuller outfit. The designers need to think "what would a woman wear when beating enemies' faces in?"
The outfit Halle Berry wore for the latest Catwoman movie was pretty good for bringing something into today's world. The Catwoman designers went for 4 months developing their last model while Berry was still training. The same thing needs to happen with Wonder Woman: an outfit that still shows her prowess and sexiness while still keeping it current and non-cartoonish.
Even with a few scenes in the beginning, the designers could begin with a normal "red shirt and blue jeans" combo and then lead into the hero outfit. Everyone that's asking for the basic cartoon outfit don't know anything about what that outfit would do to a real woman. High heel boots and bikini briefs while running around? The movie choreographers might as well make her NOT move and make every person go to her every scene.
Please, make a stunning, attractive, and current outfit that's comfortable for Adrianne Palicki. She's the one that's going to be wearing the outfit. Let her accentuate that.

  • Rick says:

Only in America can we concern ourselves of the clothing style worn by a fictitious comic character while people around the globe are either at war getting killed or in an earthquake stricken land dying form hunger and thirst.
Don't jump on me for saying that though, I'm just as guilty, I'm a comic book freak because I'm an artist and I draw them for a living. I love them.
I agree that the original pants were too shiny and rubbery looking. However, the new ones look like they stole them from some poor civil war buff on his way to a convention. I think they can do better than that. Come on now guys, look at the comic and get with it for goodness sake. Now, I'm not much of a Wonder Woman fan as I am other characters but I believe she wears blue shorts. I've never seen her wearing pants.

  • k9man says:

Tv execs listen up! Wonder Woman is an amazon! That is something somebody forgot. Hey lets change the outfit, Wrong! I think its better than the 1st redesign but, if you look at her does it say Powerful Amazon! Nope. Keep trying. Regarding the braclets With this outfit gold would be nice, but i understand silver were the originals.

  • Meranda says:

Someone said it looks like sweat pants. I saw something more like bedazzled pajama jeans lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HD9BmRtdSs

  • Kurt Miller says:

I say they should have done this had a fan design the costume type contest so all the virgins that are whining will shut up, but thats my opinion.

  • Bianca says:

Can you please shut up?? We talking about Wonder Woman not war, if you want to talk about war go on another website not on a movie website, thanks!!! (joking)
p.s.: I want to see your work!!! Did you have a deviantart? 😉

  • Rick says:

Bianca, I know!!!!! I'm guilty!!!! I couldn't help it, it was the first thing that came to my mind because I was just reading about Lybia and then jumped on this article. I'm glad you understood what I was saying tough....I wasn't being that way, I love America and that we're not screwed up like.... see, there I go again. ARG!!!!
I've been an artist for 25 years now and have done comic book work off and on throughout the years, nothing popular though. Mostly anime stuff....Manga. It's fun being an artist though. Now don't laugh at me but......I love Conan comics and I'm just as excited about that new movie coming out as Wonder Woman fans are about this movie coming out. I can't wait for Thor either, it looks pretty awesome!

  • CynicLgrrl says:

    ~who gives a f~~k. people are dying.

  • Rick says:

Yea, and bears are crappin in the woods and pollution is spewing from our cars and whaaaaaaaa, waaaaaaaa, boooo hoooo hooo waaaaaaa. People have been dying since the dawn of time, I don't think that's about to change soon. We are destined for two things, to be born and to die..... any questions?

  • Queen Bee says:

This show or movie whatever it is will such A$$ if they dont change the outfit, you cant just rap Wonder Woman like that. I dont know if the actress is any good but she better talk to the Costume designer if she wants to make money and get use to showing off her legs.

  • CynicLgrrl says:

Uhh..yeah 'Rick' -- I gotta queston. --Aren't you the same person that wrong 'this' a while ago?
    >>> "Only in America can we concern ourselves of the clothing style worn by a fictitious comic character while people around the globe are either at war getting killed or in an earthquake stricken land dying form hunger and thirst."

  • Rick says:

Yep, that was me. And since we know you can read and form complete sentences now, you might want to keep reading......it was a joke. You know, funny...ha ha..... It's okay, I work with people who think like that too, they're no fun offline either.

  • rene says:

what does anyone expect... its alittle cheap looking.. but I am a Wonder woman fan.. so it doesn't really bother me none.. I am just wondering if they could at least color coordinate the boots with the top... I mean really... they could at least kept the colors right

  • rene says:

DOES NO ONE REMEMBER THE WW LINDA CARTER... no that was WONDER WOMAN... for god sakes...

  • Gray Fox says:

    Mom jeans!

  • CynicLgrrl says:

Uhh..yeah 'Rick'-- I gotta question. Aren't you the same person that said :
"Only in America can we concern ourselves of the clothing style worn by a fictitious comic character while people around the globe are either at war getting killed or in an earthquake stricken land dying form hunger and thirst."
    Pardon my apathy.
Ps. The costume sux and I'm bitter because Hollywood is in a constant state of remakes.

  • CynicLgrrl says:

    hehe...troll much? jeez
