Wonder Woman Get-Up Now Slightly Less Sexy Halloween Costume

Earlier this month, Warner Bros. released the first photo of Adrianne Palicki in NBC's Wonder Woman reboot, and her get-up looked a lot like a sexy Halloween costume you could buy at Ricky's NYC. Fans weren't too pleased, however, and the network has since given Adrianne Palicki a more modest costume. Sorta. Take a look at Wonder Woman's new gear after the jump.

Note the roomier and latex-free pants. And red boots! Now that is a costume that you could really fight crime in. You could probably still trick or treat in it, too.

I guess this costume would work in a (cough) more dark, more serious Wonder Woman incarnation. But remember who we are working with here... it's NBC! I'm not taking any bets on the survival of this series, but I guess I can only hope. However, every time I see NBC (or its subsiduary, Syfy) go the darker, more serious route, the more it looks like a bad pi&&water soap-opera, with every character torn, neither good nor bad, and fubared beyond recognition to the point the viewer has no campassion left for the show whatsoever (See "Stargate Universe" or"Battlestar Galactica"). While I don't expect NBC to turn out another successful "Chuck", although not PC and somewhat campy, and which BTW, NBC was foolish enough to try to cancel that show, I would hope that our Amazonian heroine doesn't go down the path of drivel so many of NBC's shows have. I don't think I can stomach another bomb.

Just put this girl all in leather! (and a skirt) loose the cheap vinyl/PVC look!

  • Clark Kent says:

Funny...for Smallville they never gave Clark a "suit" that was based on the comic. This looks very campy to me.

Okay, all of you male wankers who are posting here . . . yes, Linda Carter was lovely and sexy. And yes, Wonder Woman is shown in the current comics in a bustier/dance pants (or shorts) type of outfit with high heeled boots.
I get it, it "plucks your chicken" so to speak . . . however if you want WW to resonate with real women, this incarnation of the WW garb is actually very good! Tight-fitting pants are very practical (and still sexy, like you can't still see her muscular legs??! Please!), not to mention footwear that isn't Louboutin or Choo height. I guarantee you, it would be much less effective to chase down, corner and catch evildoers in anything more than the boots they're showing the newer photos.
That's one of my main objections about female heroes as depicted by most male artists (whether in comics, film or television) - they go for the male-oriented, sex angle . . . we women know that it's hard to run down naughty Nazis in 4 inch heels and strapless tops.

Nice JEGGINGS!! Available at Forever21. Bring back the briefs you idiots!!! I hope they read the outrage!!

If this is the solution, I don't think they really understood the problem. This is still awful!!! It it too 90's. It is too Image comics. It is too Jim Lee.
I don't understand why DC is ashamed and embarrassed by their iconic characters. Why must they continue to gritty up the "Holy Trinity"? Smallville, Nolan's Batman, this godforsaken stink ball: all just a case of trying to fix what isn't broken.
DC can't, won't, and shouldn't ever be Marvel. If I want characters that mope all the time about having powers I'll pick up a Marvel book or go see one of their movies. I want my superheroes to be SUPER!!!

Listen maker of the tv show, the upgrade looks better but still not good enough the gold eagle and the gold headpiece and belt look cheap! get rid of it or replace it again with something real!

  • NONONO says:

No Pants please, use a skirt (Mini skirt please). Fashion-wise, pants are a disaster for this character. Is a woman, make it a woman with a skirt and beautiful shinny legs. Please listen to the public. Other colors should be more in, not the same old stuff.

why do our comic books have to change., for pete sakes, The clothes that our ( yes OUR) superheros dont change. they never did back then. why now. Wonder woman never wore purple. and OMG, look at the face. OURS didnt act with a frown on your face. tell them to leave her alone

  • Brittney says:

    Are u serious??? wow.

  • RH says:

You must be BLIND. Adrianne Palicki is NOT ugly - she's STUNNING. Google her name and look at the pictures that will come up. And how terrible to call someone "ugly." What are you - 12 years old?? GROW UP!

  • Red says:

The out fit is an improvement over the first one for the "new" wonderwoman but the pants look like she came upon a civil war reinactment and stole some poor schmucks pants. I am not sure why the pants, are they afraid of showing too much leg? Why? They are afraid of showing too much boob.
If you are going to make changes to the outfit to make it more "politically correct" then change the chest area not the legs. Lets show the wrong girls that she is going to be a role model for that female superheros don't have to have skintight outfits and boob spillage to fight crime. I think her bottoms would be cool if they had the look of ladies underware referred to as "boyshorts" with a wide belt (same color belt as the shorts) at the waist. the top could be similar to what it is just come up higher to hold the ladies in or even a top similar to a muscle shirt could look good. She is beautiful, I am sure it would be hard to make her look bad.
I agree that the hair was bigger but the more natural look would be better for a super hero that is aware of the ozone.
Just my thoughts, don't bother writing smack about my suggestions, I don't care about what mean, negative people think or write.
    Best regards,
A Wonder Woman Fan from long ago

Couldn't they find someone better looking, this girl is pretty but she is not WW.
What's with the pants? She lived on an island it was hot no one wore pants.
This girl has long hips, find someone with rounder hips and better looking.
This is Wonder Woman find someone new.

  • Lisa K says:

    FYI - SILVER BRACELETS
The bracelets have ALWAYS been silver. Gold would be entirely incorrect. The bracelets is really the only thing they kinda got right on this outfit.

  • Larry says:

    Does she NEED clothes???

  • carlos says:

    Stupid and clumsy looking.
This show is a disaster in the making.

  • antwon says:

Lose the pants...Bring back the Leo!!!!

  • Joe says:

Oh man, I wish I could work on that set. You KNOW them boobs will be coming out!

  • Myristica says:

For those who think WW constantly wore gold writs bands: not the case...before Crises happened, she wore blue metal, in the Lynda Carter's series she wore silver and then gold. In Perez' version, which began in 1987, she wore only silver. The arm bands deflect bullets, so the longer they are the more practical. I agree that the costume still looks cheap, but at least they were willing to listen to the outcry and make it better than what they were going to use at first. And...in Perez' version: she went without heels, which I thought was much more practical for a super hero if she has to run after the bad guys (although in Perez' version she 'flies' so heels or no heels is moot). As for the actress? She simply does not have the body to wear this outfight. Probably why it looks worse than it appears.

  • Richard says:

She isn't Linda Carter no matter what she wears!

  • Cruz says:

Still don't like. Make the old costume just a little more modern. NO PANTS

  • Margaret says:

The first one looked better, although it was apparently a computer image. And couldn't we have found a prettier WW? Sorry but she pales next to the young Linda Carter.

  • FoxySonia says:

I think the costume would look better without the ugly lycra pants and cheap plastic looking red vinyl corset top. Make the top in red leather with shoulder straps or halter style neck straps so that her boobs won't look like they are going to spill out during a fight, change the ugly pants for an above the knee blue A-line skirt, give the boots a little heel (they don't have to be stiletto length or flats), and give her bigger hair. Lipstick does not have to be so candy-apple red, a nice subdue red would look less whorish. I think making these suggested changes would make her look less like a call girl wearing a cheap Halloween costume and would be better to show-off her figure.

  • Bianca says:

Sorry but the designer who have done this can be good to do a cosplay but not a costume for a serie! Flush the designer! 😛

  • cisco merced says:

I agree with of the most ppls post on here. The pants and the shoes have to go....... Figure something that is better and compromising with the fans. Original customer from the comics will be better.
