First Clip from Conan O'Brien Can't Stop Reveals Contemplative Conan

Conan O'Brien Can't Stop, director Rodman Flender's look at the talk show host's "Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television" comedy tour in the days following his departure from NBC, picked up a distribution deal after debuting at SXSW, despite a title that sounds like a Sam Kinison stand-up special. Phew. We'd look forward to a Conan doc with or without proper teasers, but the first released clip of the film is both funny and revealing.

The film purports to show O'Brien's contemplative side, the converse to his amiable show persona. By the looks of this clip, his confessionals will be unexpected, candid, and (thankfully) funny. It's easy to wonder how a man as successful as O'Brien can say things like, "This doesn't feel entirely real" and expect theatergoers to accept such modesty, but how else should he make sense of The Tonight Show cataclysm? It didn't feel entirely real to anyone at the time.

I'm most excited to hear Andy Richter's confessionals. Not only is he smart, but he's somehow as believably down-to-earth as ever. He's the man you want commenting on both showbiz senselessness and Sheboygan vistas. I'm in.
