MPAA Whisperer Harvey Weinstein Gets PG-13 For Miral

miral_120.jpgGood news, kids: Less than 48 hours after Julian Schnabel's public dismay over the "R" rating for his new, youth-focused Middle East drama Miral, the MPAA has come around with a PG-13. A tsunami of youngs will no doubt ensue at the art house when the film opens March 25 via... who else? The Weinstein Company, whose MPAA-whispering godfather Harvey Weinstein also happened to shake off Blue Valentine's NC-17 last fall. (To say nothing of his forcing of The King's Speech's R-rated square peg into a PG-13 round hole.) Congrats to the whole team! [THR]
