George Clooney Contracts Malaria For the Second Time; What Have You Done Today?

george_clooney_225.jpgEarlier this month, Movieline mentioned that George Clooney was spending this year's award season in Africa so that the Oscar winner could bring attention to Darfur, break in his khaki vest collection and, as revealed today, contract malaria for the second time.

Before you light all of the candles in your collapsible Clooney closet shrine, know that the actor has recovered fully according to his rep, who released the following (vaguely educational) statement.

"George is completely over the Malaria he contracted while in the Sudan during the first week in January. This was his second bout with it. This illustrates how with proper medication, the most lethal condition in Africa, can be reduced to a bad ten days instead of a death sentence."

If this post did not sate your craving for Malaria-related discussion, Piers Morgan has already tweeted that the actor will discuss his second tango with the disease on Morgan's CNN show this Friday.

Malaria? Uh-Huh. Right. Is that what they're calling it now? Back in the 80s it was called something else. Rickets.
