DVD: 3 Wonderfully Wince-Inducing Puns from the Newly-Boxed Rocky and Bullwinkle Show

The pun may be the lowest form of verbal wit, according to some no-fun-having people, but wordplay is central to the ongoing adoration of Rocky and Bullwinkle, whose complete adventures are contained in the new DVD box Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends: Complete Series (Vivendi Entertainment). Every cliff-hanging chapter ended with alternate titles for the following episode that were thoroughly quippy, and the shows themselves were filled with some of the greatest groaners ever:

The "Kurward Derby": This one's not only a tongue-twister, but it also relies on the viewer actually remembering 1950s TV personality Durward Kirby. As a bonus, this clip includes the moon's "King Nosmo," whose name has another meaning entirely if you reverse the order of the words.

"Boston Takes Washington" (Sadly, I couldn't find a clip of the episode where Natasha Fatale disguises herself in Mexico as "Tequila Mockingbird.")

"Do you know what 'A-Bomb' means?"
